About the Role
Virtium is seeking a Senior VP, Technology to help define the next chapter of our technology strategy as we expand from our strong foundation in industrial memory and storage into broader embedded computing, Edge AI, connectivity, and integrated system-level solutions.
This is a highly visible executive role for a senior technology leader who can combine deep technical credibility, customer insight, product vision, and practical business judgment. The Senior VP, Technology will partner directly with the CTO, executive leadership, customers, technology partners, and internal teams to shape where Virtium invests, differentiates, and grows.

The Senior VP, Technology will help identify where customer requirements, emerging technologies, supplier roadmaps, and market opportunities intersect—and translate those insights into differentiated solutions, strategic partnerships, and scalable product opportunities.
The right leader will have the chance to influence Virtium’s technology direction at a meaningful stage of growth, with direct access to executive decision-making and a clear connection between strategy, customer need, product development, and market impact.
What You’ll Lead
Reporting to the CTO, the Senior VP, Technology will serve as Virtium’s senior technology strategist and trusted technical voice with customers, suppliers, partners, and internal teams. This leader will guide through technical credibility, strategic judgment, collaboration, and cross-functional influence while partnering closely with engineering leadership responsible for development execution.
Key Areas of Impact
• Customer and Market Strategy: Build trusted-advisor relationships with strategic OEM customers, understand their embedded system architecture and future requirements, and identify where Virtium can create differentiated technical and commercial value.
• Technology and Product Roadmap: Define and maintain Virtium’s long-term roadmap across industrial SSDs, DRAM memory, compute/SOM platforms, AI accelerator modules, connectivity modules, and related software-enabled solutions.
• Technology Ecosystem Leadership: Develop strategic relationships with semiconductor manufacturers, processor and controller suppliers, memory and NAND partners, AI accelerator providers, connectivity partners, and other key technology ecosystem partners.
• Architecture and Technical Direction: Guide major platform, architecture, and technology decisions across hardware, firmware, software, edge workload performance, system integration, thermal and power constraints, reliability, qualification, validation, and lifecycle requirements.
• Executive Alignment and Growth: Align executive, commercial, product, engineering, operations, and supply chain teams around focused technology priorities that support customer value, differentiation, revenue growth, manufacturability, and time to market.
Ideal Candidate Profile
• Executive-level technology leader with 15+ years of relevant experience in embedded systems, edge computing, memory, storage, semiconductors, computing hardware, connectivity, industrial hardware, or complex hardware/software platforms.
• Strong customer-facing Senior VP, Technology, VP Engineering, Chief Architect, Distinguished Engineer, Fellow, or senior technology leadership background with credibility across OEM customers, engineering teams, suppliers, and executive stakeholders.
• Deep understanding of how to balance innovation with reliability, lifecycle stability, manufacturability, qualification, security, performance, and supply continuity in demanding embedded or mission-critical environments.
• Proven ability to translate customer and market insight into technology roadmaps, scalable product opportunities, strategic partnerships, and practical execution priorities.
• Comfortable operating in a hands-on, collaborative, growth-oriented environment where influence, clarity, judgment, and customer proximity matter.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline
Location and Logistics
• Reports to: Chief Technology Officer
• Compensation: Total compensation range of $200-350K. Competitive and based on experience and alignment with the role; bonus eligible.
• Location: Onsite, executive leadership role based at Virtium’s headquarters in Rancho Santa Margarita, California, where close collaboration with executive, engineering, product, and operations teams is central to the role’s impact.
• Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday.
Skills Required
- 15+ years of relevant experience in embedded systems, edge computing, memory, storage, semiconductors, computing hardware, connectivity, industrial hardware, or complex hardware/software platforms
- Executive-level technology leadership experience, such as Senior VP of Technology, VP Engineering, Chief Architect, Distinguished Engineer, Fellow, or equivalent
- Customer-facing experience with credibility among OEM customers, engineering teams, suppliers, and executive stakeholders
- Deep understanding of reliability, lifecycle stability, manufacturability, qualification, security, performance, and supply continuity in embedded or mission-critical environments
- Ability to translate customer and market insights into technology roadmaps, scalable product opportunities, strategic partnerships, and execution priorities
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline
- Experience balancing innovation with practical business judgment in a hands-on, collaborative, growth-oriented environment
