Location: Carlsbad, CA / Owings Mills, MD



Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Visual Designer to lead the creation of visually stunning and user-focused designs for our flagship iOS and Android applications. The designer will primarily work on the HEOS and Bowers & Wilkins Music apps, with additional contributions to Denon & Marantz AVR apps, Headphone apps, and Bluetooth speaker apps. With your deep design expertise, you will own the visual identity of our mobile products, ensuring that every interface is engaging, consistent, and aligned with both brand and platform guidelines.

The ideal candidate will also create rapid click-through or high-definition prototyping support for testing concepts and to present ideas to stakeholders. They will work independently within defined objectives and ensure timely delivery of all graphical assets to engineering teams during pre-development and production phases.


Key Responsibilities:

· Lead the visual design process for mobile apps from initial concept to developer hand-off.

· Refine and maintain design systems, style guides, icon libraries, and other visual assets.

· Create high-fidelity designs and interactive prototypes to communicate ideas effectively.

· Ensure designs meet platform-specific guidelines (Apple Human Interface Guidelines, Google Material Design).

· Collaborate closely with UX designers, product managers, and engineers.

· Mentor junior designers and provide design feedback to maintain quality across the team.

· Conduct design reviews and advocate for best practices in mobile visual design.

· Stay up to date on emerging design trends, prototyping techniques, and mobile UI patterns.



Qualifications:

· 7+ years of professional experience designing consumer iOS and Android applications.

· Proven track record of delivering world-class mobile UI designs for a global user base.

· Expert proficiency in Figma for design, wireframing, and collaboration.

· Expert proficiency in ProtoPie and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects).

· Experience designing illustrated assets such as iconography and device illustrations.

· Deep understanding of typography, layout principles, and interaction design.

· Experience creating and managing design systems at scale.

· Excellent communication skills and ability to present design rationale to stakeholders.

· Experience with audio products or connected devices is a plus.


Nice to Have:

· Experience designing mobile apps that connect to networked hardware.

· Experience creating Lottie animations using Bodymovin and After Effects.

· Experience using Blender or other 3D software.

· Knowledge of accessibility guidelines for mobile platforms.

· Familiarity with front-end implementation constraints of iOS and Android platforms and progressive web apps.

· Experience coding with JavaScript or using tools like Cursor, CoPilot or other AI coding tools to create mobile native or web applications.




Salary Range: 

The anticipated salary range for this position is $120-150k range plus benefits. Actual placement within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, and experience. This position also qualifies for up to 3.5% bonus based on company, department, and individual performance
