Senior Test Engineer

Dark Wolf is looking for a Senior Test Engineer to plan, develop, and execute end-to-end testing for embedded systems, edge devices, and network system products. A successful candidate will serve as a technical leader, architecting scalable test suites using modern test automation frameworks while executing system testing and security controls validation. This position is remote but may require travel to customer sites in VA and field sites, as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design comprehensive test plans, methodologies, and scenarios to satisfy functional, performance, reliability, security, and Military Standard compliance requirements.
• Architect, develop, and maintain scalable automated test suites across unit, multi-unit, and system-level tiers.
• Manage containerized test execution environments using tools like Docker and Kubernetes to ensure reliable, reproducible test runs.
• Integrate automated test pipelines into continuous integration and continuous delivery workflows using platforms such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
• Execute lab-based validation, hardware and software testing, and field site assessments, managing parallel testing across multiple systems simultaneously.
• Collect qualitative and quantitative prototype performance data, including system performance, reliability, and security metrics, to drive iterative refinement.
• Identify, isolate, and log complex system defects, perform root-cause analysis, and manage defect lifecycles in collaboration with development teams.
• Produce objective test evidence, execution metrics, formal test reports, and on-demand performance summaries to ensure systems meet operational readiness and release criteria.
• Adhere strictly to federal compliance standards, security protocols, version control practices, and quality assurance best practices throughout the test lifecycle.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in system integration and testingHands-on expertise architecting, building, and scaling modern test automation frameworks
• Strong proficiency in programming and scripting languages, including Python or BashDeep working knowledge of Linux operating systems
• Proven experience with Agile software development, user interface analysis, defect lifecycle management, and technical troubleshooting
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams, customers, and external stakeholders
• Excellent oral communication skills, including experience leading customer briefings, outreach initiatives, and user training sessions
• Strong written communication skills, with proven ability to synthesize complex system analyses into clear technical reports, quality assurance metrics, test evidence, and actionable recommendations
• U.S. Citizenship with an active Top Secret security clearance

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with CI/CD concepts and methodologies, including building and maintaining automated test pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Experience working with Kubernetes platforms (e.g., Rancher, EKS) and containerization technologies (Docker) for test execution and application deployment.
• Familiarity with security scanning, vulnerability management tools, and cybersecurity control validation.

The salary range for this position is $155,000.00 - $170,000.00 commensurate on experience and technical skillset.
