Summary:
As the Senior Technical Leader for a recently awarded high-assurance program, you are the principal technical authority guiding the architectural design, software modernization, and secure infrastructure operations across the enterprise. We are seeking a visionary technical leader with deep expertise in cryptographic systems, microservice architectures, and modern SecDevOps methodologies. You will bridge the gap between high-level customer mission objectives and hands-on engineering execution, leading cross-functional engineering teams in the refactoring of legacy capabilities, implementation of automated pipelines, and sustainment of continuous ATO compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support the program manager in execution of all deliverables for the contract, ensuring excellence in achieving customer outcomes.
- Drive technical health for the contract through delivery on one or more task/delivery orders, advocate for technical solutions to achieve customer outcomes.
- Serve as the primary technical authority across software, infrastructure, and system security domains, aligning technical execution with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) principles and program objectives.
- Provide technical direction for refactoring complex legacy client-server systems into modular, containerized microservices operating within Kubernetes enclaves.
- Direct the design, deployment, and sustainment of multi-datacenter Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and high-availability cloud platforms.
- Architect and enforce automated SecDevOps CI/CD pipelines, integrating rigorous zero-defect software quality gates, automated vulnerability scanning, and static code analysis.
- Drive system security engineering and continuous Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance, coordinating system security plans (SSPs) and hardening baselines to maintain continuous Authority to Operate (ATO).
- Interface with high-assurance cryptographic equipment, key management infrastructure concepts, hardware security modules (HSMs), external randomizer hardware, and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) systems, as well as customer stakeholders and system owners for mission platforms.
- Lead, mentor, and govern cross-functional teams of Software Engineers, Network Engineers, Systems Engineers, and System Administrators across multiple program increments and technical sprints.
- Establish and maintain a clear "definition of done" for all deliverables to ensure strict alignment with Agile principles.
- Maintain diligent record keeping for all stakeholder feedback, meeting outcomes, and project agreements, supporting administrative and auditing requirements across Time and Materials and Firm Fixed Price contract structures.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Network Engineering or a related technical discipline.
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in a dedicated tehnical capacity in systems engineering, software development, or network architecturre on programs of similar scope and complexity, including at least 5+ years in a senior technical leadership or system architect capacity.
Skills:
- Cryptographic & High-Assurance Engineering: Expertise in cryptographic systems engineering, PKI operations, key management concepts, Hardware Security Modules (HSMs), zeroization workflows, and secure key distribution protocols.
- Software Architecture & SecDevOps: Deep proficiency in Java (Java 17+), Python, containerization (Docker, Podman), Kubernetes (Tanzu, TKG, EKS), Helm, and GitLab CI/CD pipeline automation.
- Virtualization & Infrastructure: In-depth knowledge of VMware vSphere, Omnissa Horizon Cloud Pod Architecture, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) via Ansible/Packer, and software-defined networking.
- Security & Compliance: Advanced experience with RMF, DISA STIGs, CIS Benchmarks, NIST security controls, Nessus vulnerability scanning, and automated configuration drift remediation.
