About the Position
DigitalCM is seeking an experienced, hands-on Senior Systems & Network Infrastructure Engineer to design, deploy, secure, maintain, and improve the infrastructure supporting our software development, artificial intelligence (AI), digital twin, testing, and technical training environments.
We are looking for a skilled engineer who can take a server from an unopened box to a secure, fully configured, documented, and operational system—and confidently troubleshoot it when problems arise.
The ideal candidate has extensive practical experience with physical servers, Linux and Windows Server, networking, firewalls, virtualization, and storage systems. You should be comfortable working independently, solving complex technical challenges, and collaborating with developers and technical leadership.
This is a hands-on engineering position for someone who enjoys building systems, solving problems, and taking ownership of infrastructure reliability, performance, and security.
Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot physical and virtual servers running Linux and Windows Server.
  • Design, configure, and manage network infrastructure, including switches, routers, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, and firewalls.
  • Implement and maintain network security, access controls, intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and system hardening.
  • Manage virtualization platforms, container environments, shared storage, backups, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Configure and support GPU-enabled servers and computing infrastructure for AI, software development, and digital twin applications.
  • Deploy and maintain edge computing systems, specialized laboratory environments, and isolated or air-gapped networks.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot hardware and network issues, and proactively identify infrastructure improvements.
  • Automate routine administration and maintenance using PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible, or comparable tools.
  • Maintain accurate network diagrams, equipment inventories, system configurations, and recovery procedures.
  • Evaluate infrastructure requirements and recommend practical, cost-effective hardware, software, and system improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of substantial hands-on experience in systems engineering, server administration, network engineering, or a closely related technical field.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently deploy, configure, secure, and troubleshoot physical servers and network infrastructure.
  • Strong Linux administration skills and practical experience with Windows Server environments.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, and network troubleshooting.
  • Experience with virtualization, storage systems, backups, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Working knowledge of infrastructure security, system hardening, access management, and security monitoring.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage technical priorities, maintain documentation, and communicate effectively with technical teams.
  • Ability to work on-site at our Tampa, Florida facility.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with NVIDIA GPU servers, CUDA environments, or locally hosted AI infrastructure.
  • Experience with offline, isolated, or air-gapped networks and edge computing systems.
  • Experience with high-speed networking and storage solutions supporting large imagery, video, or 3D datasets.
  • Experience with centralized logging, vulnerability management, and infrastructure automation.
  • Experience supporting mixed Linux, Windows, and Apple environments.
  • Experience supporting government, defense, or other security-sensitive technical environments.
  • Relevant certifications in networking, Linux, Microsoft, virtualization, or cybersecurity.
