PURPOSE:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for participating in the execution of the monthly financial accounting close, account reconciliation and reporting and analysis of financial results. Primary emphasis is accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and analysis of reported results to budget, current and prior period trends.

KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:• Participate in monthly financial close for multi-entity site in compliance with GAAP• Prepare and record monthly general ledger journal entries• Prepare monthly account reconciliations and lead sheets for assigned balance sheet accounts in accordance with established deadlines, with special focus on inventory accounts• Ensure accuracy of financial statement presentation to include proper recording of balance sheet accounts, revenue recognition and cost of sales as incurred or earned• Prepare monthly analysis of reported results to budget, current and prior period trends• Prepare recurring analysis of reported material margin and variances to current cost• Prepare external audit work papers and requests in accordance with established deadlines and guidelines• Analyze current processes and structure, provide recommendations for continued progress and efficiencies to make the close and reporting process more accurate and efficient to allow for an improved closing cycle• Facilitate effective internal controls in accordance with GAAP and internal SOX policies

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:• Associate's Degree in Accounting from an accredited university• 5+ years' experience in the analytical application of accounting principles• 2+ years' experience in analysis and reporting within the accounting function of SAP• Prior responsibility with balance sheets and P&L accounts including Inventory, Accrued Liabilities, Revenue, and Cost of Sales• 2+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment
