Job Summary:

Prepare and review financial documents, reports and statements for Jewish Community Center.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support monthly, quarterly and year-end financial closes
  • Process general ledger transactions and posts entries
  • Prepares balance sheet reconciliations and rectifies discrepancies 
  • Perform all cash account reconciliations for all bank accounts 
  • Prepares consolidated financial statements
  • Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures
  • Manages the purchase order process 
  • Processes 1099 forms and other forms relevant to the organization 
  • Manages all insurance policies (workers compensation, general liability, D&O) 
  • Reconciles pledges between the development database and the general ledger 
  • Reconciles all credit card purchases to monthly statements 
  • Assists in the annual financial audit and other audits as required 
  • Assists in the annual budget and strategic planning 
  • Assists in preparing the 990 documentation 

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business (or equivalent)
  • Experience in audit accounting
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

Additional Technical Requirements:

  • Knowledge of payroll (ADP)
  • Knowledge or MS Office products
  • Strong Microsoft Excel user
  • Strong organizational skills
