Senior Software Engineer

This role is based in Chicago, IL, and candidates must be able to work on-site. Relocation assistance is not provided for this position.

What we're looking for

• Full stack web application experience, with the confidence to take projects end to end

• Passion for API design, observability, and platform building

• Motivation that comes from seeing your work have an outsized impact on the business and our customers

• Drive to learn new technologies, sharpen your craft, and share what you learn with your teammates

• A track record of raising technical standards through code and design reviews and mentoring other engineers

• Comfort partnering with product stakeholders to refine requirements, align with the team, and push projects forward

Your Qualifications: 

• 5+ years experience as a professional software developer. 

• Experience with Kotlin, Java, Python or another backend language. 

• Experience with AWS, GCP or another major cloud provider.

• Familiarity with relational databases and schema design. 

• Passionate about code quality and engineering best practices. 

• Experience with large distributed systems with an emphasis on observability, instrumentation, monitoring. 

• Intuition for when to call it "good enough", and when to put in the extra time to polish. 

• You get along well with others and thrive in a collaborative environment. 

• Chicago, IL based.

• Compensation range: $140,000 - $175,000 annually
