About You: As a Senior Research Engineer at Delfina, you will work at the intersection of clinical research, product development, and data engineering to design and execute complex data-driven projects that measurably improve pregnancy outcomes and support care providers. We are looking for someone who is excited to lead research and development projects, engineer robust data systems and analytical tools, and collaborate across technical and clinical teams to solve challenging problems in maternal health.
Responsibilities:
- Drive the development and deployment of data analytics infrastructure, empowering Product and Clinical teams with data-driven strategic planning capabilities
- Lead the creation of data-driven experimentation infrastructure to analyze user experience
- Collaborate with Engineering team to ensure all required data is easily accessible for assessing product performance
- Analyze drivers of patient, provider, and practice engagement with the Delfina Care to inform clinical product decisions
- Conduct statistical analyses using multiple data assets
- Contribute to the development and refinement of clinical prediction models
- Ensure high standards for data accuracy and reliability
- Identify opportunities for new data-driven product features that improve patient care
- Create data-driven reports for external partners describing the impact of the Delfina Care platform
Qualifications:
- PhD in related field with 2 years of work experience
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, SQLAlchemy, and version control systems (git and GitHub)
- 2+ years experience leading the end-to-end development and deployment of data analytics tools and platforms
- 2+ years of user experience research methodologies and infrastructure requirements
- Experience working with cloud-based computing platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Platform)
- Experience writing production-quality code and an understanding of software best practices
- Experience working with EHR data, with knowledge of FHIR standard
- Experience deploying clinical prediction models in practice

Compensation: $170,000-$205,000
The compensation range for this full-time internship in the United States represents a wide variety of factors, including location, skills, experience, education, and training. New interns who meet most of the qualifications above should expect to earn near the middle of the posted compensation range.
Benefits: Medical/Dental/Vision benefits are provided as options for all full-time employees at Delfina. Additional company benefits may be included for interns on the basis of state and federal law and as available through company policy.
