STV is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Construction Management group in Los Angeles, CA. This leadership role is responsible for managing the planning, execution, and delivery of complex capital improvement projects from initiation through closeout. The Senior Project Manager provides strategic oversight of project scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and stakeholder coordination while ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with District objectives.
The ideal candidate is an experienced owner's representative with a strong background in public sector or educational facilities construction, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to successfully manage multiple projects and multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Lead all phases of assigned capital improvement projects from planning and design through construction and closeout.
- Develop and implement project execution strategies that align with District goals, budgets, schedules, and quality standards.
- Oversee engineering, procurement, and construction activities while ensuring technical excellence throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while balancing competing priorities and stakeholder expectations.
Project Management
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, cash flow, quality, procurement, and risk.
- Monitor project performance and proactively identify and resolve issues that may impact project success.
- Review project schedules, cost reports, forecasts, and change orders to ensure alignment with established objectives.
- Ensure compliance with LAUSD standards, applicable building codes, regulatory requirements, and contract documents.
Leadership & Team Management
- Assemble, lead, and mentor project teams while providing direction to project managers, project engineers, and other support staff.
- Assign responsibilities, establish project priorities, and monitor team performance.
- Foster collaboration among internal teams, consultants, contractors, and district stakeholders.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact between LAUSD, consultants, contractors, architects, engineers, and project stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships while providing regular updates on project status, milestones, budgets, and risks.
- Lead project meetings and facilitate timely decision-making among project participants.
Financial & Risk Management
- Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and resource plans.
- Monitor expenditures against approved budgets and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
- Evaluate project risks and implement mitigation strategies to maintain project objectives.
- Review and negotiate changes, claims, and contract modifications as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible project management experience overseeing large capital construction projects.
- Experience serving as an owner's representative on public sector, K-12, higher education, or institutional projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects from planning and design through construction and closeout.
- Strong knowledge of project controls, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, contract administration, and risk management.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and managing consultants and contractors.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, and construction/project management software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with California public works contracting and DSA requirements.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
- CCM (Certified Construction Manager) certification.
- Professional Engineer (PE), Registered Architect (RA), or other relevant professional licensure.
Compensation Range:
