The Senior Project Manager position has significant career growth potential for the right person. A working knowledge and familiarity of the Massachusetts Contingency Plan (MCP) is critical to this position and possession of a LSP license (or ability to achieve the license within 1-2 years) is required. The ideal candidate is a technical leader and business developer who will work on a variety of site investigation and remediation projects in New England.
Key Responsibilities
- Support existing MCP projects and other Environmental Services business sectors across Stantec, including collaboration with offices throughout New England.
- Strong commitment to safety and ensure the implementation of Stantec Health, Safety, Security, & Environment (HSSE) Policies in the execution of all work.
- Provide collaborative leadership and project management on a wide variety of environmental site clean-up, planning and permitting projects for energy, government, and private sector clients throughout New England.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships with power, industrial, commercial, and government clients.
- Support, train, develop, mentor, and retain staff as we grow our client base and workload.
- Assist in the growth of Environmental Services, a crossed service sector in New England.
- Innovate and enhance the business's capabilities, geographic footprint and integrated approach.
Capabilities and Credentials
- Experience with the Massachusetts Contingency Plan is required and LSP license or the ability to obtain the LSP license within 1-2 years of starting at Stantec.
- Strong understanding of environmental remediation practices and regulatory frameworks throughout New England is a plus.
- Have excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills.
- Be conscientious, detail-oriented, and disciplined.
- OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER/up-to-date refreshers are mandatory.
- Be proficient in commonly used software (e.g. Word, Excel, etc.).
- Pre-employment physical is required.
- Good driving record and valid driver's license are required.
- Background check as well as drug and alcohol screening.
- Willing and able to travel to and from neighboring office occasionally is a plus.
- Ability to sell professional services while effectively managing multiple projects and staff is required.
Education and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science or Engineering is required.
- Master’s degree is desired but not required
- Relative environmental consulting experience in MA and New England for minimum 10 years.
