What You will Achieve
As a Senior Project Manager at Vanderweil, you will lead a diverse portfolio of academic and institutional projects in collaboration with nationally recognized architectural partners and forward-thinking clients. These projects span:
- Higher education facilities featuring bespoke architectural design and ambitious sustainability targets,
- Large-scale K–12 campuses with multifaceted programmatic needs, and
- Cultural institutions that serve as vital hubs within their communities.
At Vanderweil, Project Managers are instrumental in shaping project outcomes and fostering long-term client relationships. You’ll drive success through innovative thinking, engineering leadership, and a commitment to exceptional service.
In this role, you will:
- Serve as the primary liaison for owners, architects, and contractors from design through construction managing multiple A/E efforts within the Institutional and Academic sectors.
- Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams across MEP/FP disciplines, overseeing every aspect of project delivery - from early planning and client presentations to construction administration - while ensuring technical excellence and responsive service.
- Engage in marketing and business development activities, including crafting proposals, developing A/E fee estimates, and presenting team qualifications to prospective clients.
Qualifications:
- Professional Experience:
10+ years of experience in MEP engineering, with at least 5 years in project management roles overseeing building projects. - Sector Expertise:
Background managing projects in the Institutional, Academic, or Cultural sectors, including coordination with architects, owners, and contractors. - Technical Knowledge:
Understanding of MEP/FP systems and how they integrate into building design and construction. Ability to guide technical engineering teams. - Education & Credentials:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Architectural Engineering (or related field). PE license preferred; PMP certification is a plus.

Compensation for this role is based on experience, education, skills, geographic region, and professional licensure, and is expected to range from $130,000 to $160,000 annually, plus eligibility for bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package.
