We are Loop

We redefine what an earplug should sound, look and feel like. Whether it’s hearing protection or comfort for your ears, Loop enables you to live life at your volume. Our founders Maarten and Dimitri started Loop back with a big idea. And a chronic ringing in their ears. Since then, we’ve helped more than 3,500,000 customers around the world to find quiet, enjoy great experiences and keep unwanted noise at bay.
In 2023 we grew from almost 100 Loopers to over 250 people. And that’s a number we would have to keep updating every month, as we are planning to double the team once again, this year.

Our headquarters are based in Antwerp, but with hubs in Amsterdam, Shanghai, and New York, we’re dotted all over the globe.

Not to brag about it, but we’ve recently won the EY Scale up of the year award, the Deloitte Fast50 award (for the second year in a row) and a couple of other amazing (international) prices. The New York Times named us ‘best earplugs for concerts’ and thousands of noise-sensitive customers call us a ‘life changer’.

About the job

You are a rock-star engineer that works on all product stages from research and development to design and manufacture, making sure that every step through to installation and final commissioning is as smooth as butter. You’re innovative, you’re excellent, and your analytical skills are on point. You can produce outline designs, design the perfect systems and components, conduct experiments methodically, analyze data and interpret the results, and make sure that the product is safe and reliable – is there anything you can’t do?

You're a creative visionary that knows how to change our innovative ideas into real products. You don't back down from a crazy idea and see it as a challenge to get it working. You'll work closely with our designers, product managers and researchers to build products that customers love. To ace this role, you're a perfectionist in creating 3D models that are ready for mass manufacturing.
You're the master in inventing mechanical solutions for complex problems. You know the boundaries of plastic injection molding and are eager to discover other production techniques. Prototyping, FEM simulations, DFM, tolerances, 2K molding, tooling sliders, material selection, ... this list of expertise you have is infinite.

Your know-how is pitch perfect

You’re a regular know-it-all – but in a good way. You’ve got a BSc degree in engineering, as well as proven experience in consumer goods, electronic goods, and injection molding. You’ve got a great understanding of the production process, and a sound knowledge of design guides and tolerances for the injection-molding process.

You’ve also got hands-on experience with Creo, and a familiarity with 2D drawings, 3D engineering files, and manufacturing documentation. And let’s not forget your superb technical writing skills and your solid understanding of the core concepts like mechanics and materials science.

You work in harmony with others

What we love about you is how much of a team player you are. You can perform a full lifecycle of product development in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, designers, project managers, product managers, and operational staff.

You’re always there to support the project manager with new product development (NPD), and you are vital when it comes to R&D test set-up support.

Plus, your communication skills are next level. You can get your technical know-how across in a clear and understandable way, and you’ve got a knack for making sure that the (sometimes crazy) designers’ designs are feasible for production.

How you will do it

  • You have a bachelor in Engineering
  • You have experience in consumer goods, preferably electronics products
  • You have +8 years of experience in the mechanical design of plastic injection molded products
  • You have a sound knowledge of design guides
  • You have a hands-on experience with CREO or similar
  • You have a good knowledge of 2D drawings and 3D engineering files as well as manufacturing documentation.
  • You have good technical writing skills
  • You have a solid understanding of mechanics and materials science
  • You’re confident, have strong presentation skills – both written and verbal – and you’re fluent in English. If you speak any other languages then that would be pretty cool too
  • You’re able to work on a weekly basis in either our Antwerp (BE) or Amsterdam (NL) offices. It’s where our product development team is based. And since you'll be working with a physical product, we’d obviously need you to be there
Why join us?
  • In 2023, we won Scale-up of the year (according to EY — awarded December 2023), and we want you to scale and grow with us.
  • Our culture? We’re all about enabling growth by giving our team full autonomy to manage their own projects, be a thought leader, and truly make an impact on the company.

  • We take care of our people. So, we pay them what they’re worth. Expect a competitive pay in the top 20% of the market rate for your level of experience and potential.
