ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Senior Optical Systems Engineer to join our SYLUX development team, work based in Goleta California. The Senior Optical Systems Engineer candidate will contribute to the development of optical based ADAS cameras, including thermal infrared, for advanced driver assistance systems.
Major responsibilities:
Develop optical system requirements, support customer RFQ responses, contribute to the development of new optics suppliers, improve calibration and simplify image signal processing techniques. Verify product performance goals are met through analysis and hands-on testing of hardware. Apply problem solving techniques to resolve issues arising during development and production. Contribute to development and application of new lower cost optics technologies to reduce cost.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 10+ years experience developing optical systems for automotive and/or equivalent high quality camera systems, including optical designs, lens component design specifications, sourcing and testing.
- MS/Ph.D. in Optics, Physics and/or Systems Engineering.
- Expertise with optical design tools.
- High volume camera manufacturing experience, including validation, PPAP, safe-launch and 8D troubleshooting processes.
- Familiarity with alternate optics technologies for reduced cost, e.g., metalenses and multi-level diffractive optics.
