  • Lead investigation and resolution of complex software and system issues on Linux-based embedded devices.
  • Own technical planning for complex work, identify dependencies, and communicate delivery risks and trade-offs early.
  • Improve CI/CD pipelines and engineering workflows to support dependable, repeatable delivery.
  • Set the testing approach for assigned capabilities and ensure effective unit, integration, and system-level coverage.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers through design discussions, pairing, and constructive code reviews.
  • Drive coding standards, documentation, and engineering best practices across the team.
  • Collaborate with QA, DevOps, product, hardware, and other engineering teams to deliver coherent end-to-end solutions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Substantial commercial experience delivering production software with Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Demonstrated ownership of complex features or services from technical design through implementation, testing, release, and operational support.
  • Experience making and communicating architectural decisions for maintainable, reliable software systems.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in Linux environments, including investigation of cross-service or system-level issues.
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs and common communication and transport protocols such as Ethernet, serial, and TLS/SSL.
  • Proven ability to raise engineering standards through code reviews, technical guidance, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to plan complex work, manage technical risks and dependencies, and collaborate effectively across disciplines.
  • Fluent English, both written and verbal.
