POSITION DESCRIPTION 

We are currently seeking a full-time Senior Municipal Engineer. Our team works with local communities on a wide range of civil, municipal, and environmental projects. We are looking for a Professional Engineer who would work with CAD Technicians, Construction Observers, Land Survey Chiefs, and office staff in various capacities.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Prepare detailed technical engineering reports. 
  • Prepare or modify plans, specifications, construction schedules, permits, and cost and quantity estimates for public works projects. 
  • Work with Construction Observers/Resident Technicians during all facets of construction. 
  • Assist Project Manager in completing project within budget and on schedule. 
  • Client contact including attendance at board or council meetings.  

REQUIREMENTS 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering required. 
  • Minimum 10 years of civil engineering design experience preferred/desired. 
  • Iowa PE license or ability to obtain within 1 year preferred. 
  • Previous roadway, storm sewer, sanitary collection sewers and water distribution design experience desired. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required. 
 

Following an offer, candidates will be required to satisfactorily complete employment reference checks, verification of professional licensure and/or educational credentials, a motor vehicle report (MVR), and a comprehensive background check.

The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the Illinois Pay Transparency Law.  Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Salary Range: $91,000-$129,043.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of civil engineering design experience
