Are you a talented proposal professional who thrives on deadlines, enjoys collaborating with technical experts, and knows how to turn complex information into compelling proposals?

At GBA, we're looking for a Senior Marketing Specialist – Pursuits who brings creativity, organization, and a proactive approach to everything they do. You'll play an important role in helping our teams pursue new opportunities, develop winning proposals, and support the continued growth of our business.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership, working with a variety of people, and making a meaningful contribution to the success of the team.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and coordinate the development of proposals, qualifications packages, and other pursuit materials from start to finish.
  • Review and interpret Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Qualifications (RFQs), ensuring responses address requirements and meet submission deadlines.
  • Write, edit, and develop compelling, client-focused content that communicates GBA's technical expertise, experience, and value.
  • Partner with market leaders, business development professionals, and technical teams to develop pursuit strategies and strengthen proposals.
  • Manage multiple complex proposals simultaneously, balancing competing priorities, changing requirements, and firm deadlines.
  • Proactively gather information from project teams, follow up on deliverables, and confidently communicate expectations to keep pursuits on track.
  • Create and produce professional, visually engaging proposal materials using Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign.
  • Collaborate with teams across GBA's markets and affiliates, building strong relationships and navigating different perspectives to achieve shared goals.
  • Apply feedback to continuously improve proposal quality, share best practices, and provide guidance to colleagues.
  • Identify opportunities to improve proposal processes, content libraries, and pursuit effectiveness.
  • Support client interview presentations, marketing initiatives, and other business development activities as needed.

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in proposal development, pursuit management, marketing, or a related field.
  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience writing, coordinating, and managing proposals, including responding to RFPs, RFIs, and related pursuit requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Hands-on InDesign proficiency is required.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with careful attention to style, tone, grammar, and accuracy.
  • The ability to translate complex technical information into clear, persuasive, client-focused content.
  • Advanced interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the confidence to engage effectively with employees, technical professionals, and senior leadership.
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects under tight deadlines.
  • The ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, establish priorities, and proactively move projects forward.
  • A professional, solutions-oriented approach, with high standards for quality, accountability, and teamwork.
  • The ability to receive and apply feedback constructively, improve outcomes, and help colleagues strengthen their work.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the confidence to make recommendations, navigate differing perspectives, and build productive working relationships.

Experience leading proposals and pursuits in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry or professional services is strongly preferred.

What Will Make You Successful

You're someone who takes initiative. You anticipate what needs to happen next, ask the right questions, and follow through without needing constant direction.

You know that successful proposals require more than great writing and design. They require collaboration, organization, and the ability to bring people together around a common goal.

You're comfortable working with technical experts and leadership, even when priorities compete or deadlines are approaching. You communicate clearly, aren't afraid to ask for what you need, and know how to keep projects moving while maintaining positive relationships.

You take pride in producing accurate, high-quality work, but you're also adaptable when things change. You bring a positive attitude, welcome feedback, and look for opportunities to make processes and outcomes better.

Most importantly, you want to be more than someone who produces proposals. You want to be a trusted partner who contributes ideas, supports your teammates, and helps GBA win work.

Why GBA?

You'll have the opportunity to collaborate with teams across multiple markets, contribute to meaningful pursuits, and play a direct role in helping our business grow.
