The Salesforce Implementation Manager is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing a portfolio of Salesforce projects and the professional development of the implementation team. This role bridges the gap between executive strategy and technical execution, ensuring that all Salesforce initiatives are delivered with high quality, remain profitable (or within budget), and achieve long-term business value. The Manager focuses on process optimization, resource allocation, and maintaining senior-level stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Oversight: Manage multiple concurrent Salesforce implementations, ensuring they meet organizational standards, budget constraints, and delivery timelines.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and conduct performance reviews for Implementation Leads and Administrators. Foster a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
  • Strategic Road mapping: Collaborate with senior leadership to align Salesforce initiatives with the broader company vision and long-term digital transformation goals.
  • Solution design oversight: Collaborate with Salesforce architects and developers and ensure the solution aligns with business needs and best practices.
Review configurations like objects, workflows, flows, and integrations.

  • Project Governance: Define and enforce implementation methodologies (Agile/Scrum), documentation standards, and QA protocols across all projects.
  • Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Act as a point of escalation for project risks. Manage relationships with external Salesforce partners and third-party vendors to ensure accountability.
  • Resource Planning: Forecast staffing needs and allocate technical resources across projects to maximize efficiency and prevent burnout.
  • Change Management Strategy: Lead the organizational change management (OCM) strategy to ensure high user adoption and ROI post-deployment.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously audit and improve the implementation lifecycle, from pre-sales discovery to post-launch support.

Requirements
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in the Salesforce ecosystem, with at least 3–5 years in a formal leadership or people management role.
  • Certifications: Salesforce Administrator and Salesforce Consultant (Sales, Service, or Experience Cloud) certifications are required. Project Management Professional (PMP) or Agile (CSM) certifications are highly preferred.
  •  Strategic Acumen: Demonstrated ability to translate complex business problems into multi-year technical roadmaps.
  • Technical Breadth: Deep understanding of Salesforce architecture, including multi-org strategies, complex integrations (MuleSoft/Zapper), and DevOps cycles.
  •  Leadership Skills: Proven track record of managing technical teams, resolving internal conflicts, and developing talent.
  •  Communication: Exceptional executive-level communication skills, with the ability to present complex data and project health metrics to C-suite stakeholders.
  • Software Proficiency: Advanced mastery of JIRA, Confluence, and Project Management software (e.g., Asana, Smart sheet), alongside standard collaboration tools.
  • Analytical Mindset: Strong ability to analyze project KPIs (velocity, budget burn, defect rates) to make data-driven decisions.
