About the company
Our client is a law firm.
The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Own a full litigation docket from the first filing through trial, working largely independently with guidance from senior partners. The role calls for polished writing, steady client responsiveness and a defined annual billable-hours commitment.
What you'll do
- Carry civil matters through every stage of the litigation process, from initial pleadings to appearances in court.
- Manage your own docket with limited oversight and respond quickly to client requests.
- Advise on a mix of property-related disputes, insolvency-related matters and post-judgment recovery work.
- Learn a specialized area of practice and its governing statutes by working closely with the managing partners.
- Reach an annual billable-hours goal of 1,800 while keeping written work at a consistently high standard.
Requirements
What we're looking for

- JD and active California Bar membership.
- Track record of independently handling pleadings, motions, discovery and hearings.
- Background at a firm handling property, association or construction-related disputes.
- Exceptional written advocacy, with a writing sample reviewed during interviews and no tolerance for careless errors.
- Familiarity with property law, organizational governance or recorded community rules and related statutes.
- Self-directed working style: takes feedback on board the first time and delivers drafts that are close to final.
- Based in Southern California (Los Angeles area preferred), available on Pacific hours and able to visit an office occasionally.
- Ability to meet the annual billable-hours requirement.
Bonus points
- Exposure to bankruptcy work for creditors or to collections after judgment.
- Some courtroom trial experience rather than pre-trial work alone.
