Job Summary:
As a Senior Lead Software Engineer in the Finance Technology Team, you will design and deliver trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You will carry out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas to support our business objectives. You’ll work as a seasoned member of an agile team, shaping the direction of technology and process implementations. Your role will help foster a diverse, equitable, and inclusive team culture while driving impactful results.
Job Responsibilities:
- Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting to build innovative solutions
- Define and lead technology and process implementations across groups to achieve firmwide objectives
- Create secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with systems
- Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring design constraints are met
- Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets
- Identify hidden problems and patterns in data to drive improvements in coding hygiene and system architecture
- Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events exploring new and emerging technologies
- Add to a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
- Provide leadership and high-level direction to multiple feature teams both regionally and globally
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts
- Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Proficient in coding in one or more languages such as Java or Spark
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with modern programming and database querying languages
- Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile)
- Ability to solve data-oriented problems using technologies such as SQL, Relational DB, Spark, NoSQL, optimizing for performance
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Experience with Spark performance tuning of complex calculations on large datasets
- Experience delivering production changes to complex software using Scala and Spark
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts
