Senior IT Operations Administrator

Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior IT Operations Administrator to join our IT Operations team. In this role, you will ensure the reliability, security, and performance of phData’s internal technology environment, including cloud-based systems, end-user devices, and core collaboration platforms. You will collaborate closely with the Team Lead – IT Ops, security and compliance stakeholders, and internal employees across the company to deliver responsive, high-quality support. You will also help drive improvements in our IT infrastructure, automation, and operational standards to support a growing, global workforce.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end lifecycle of IT support for employees, resolving device, account, application, server, and service issues while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
• Lead the administration and optimization of core IT platforms, including identity and access management, collaboration suites, and device management, to ensure secure and reliable operations.
• Drive organization-wide IT initiatives such as migrations, infrastructure optimizations, security enhancements, SSO integrations, provisioning, and automation with minimal disruption to users.
• Ensure effective governance across IT assets, licenses, and subscriptions by maintaining accurate inventories, managing Entra ID domains and integrations, and participating in security and compliance audits.governance across IT assets,
• Contribute to a operations model by working rotational shifts, participating in weekend on-call coverage, and continuously improving monitoring, alerting, and response processes.

Required Qualifications

Experience

• 7+ years of overall IT experience, with at least 3 years as a System Administrator or in a similar IT operations role.

Technical / Functional Skills

• Extensive experience with end-user operating systems and device management, including Windows, macOS, laptop hardware, and other IT devices, plus servers and virtualization technologies.
• Strong experience with identity, endpoint, and collaboration platform administration, including Entra ID (Azure Active Directory), Intune / Microsoft Endpoint Manager, Office 365, and Google Workspace/GSuite.
• Hands-on experience with network infrastructure setup and maintenance, including Routing, Switching, Wireless, and Network Security, as well as configuring and managing SIEM, network, and endpoint security monitoring tools.
• Advanced knowledge and experience with cloud platforms, specifically AWS and Microsoft Entra / Azure, supporting workloads such as virtual desktops, EC2, and related services.
• Proven track record delivering high-quality customer support in a 24/7 environment with rotating shifts (including nights) and weekend on-call participation, with strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

Education - If desired

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications help candidates stand out but are not required for success in this role.

• Hands-on experience with tools such as Azure Sentinel, AWS Workspaces, AWS EC2 and networking, Windows Server, Jamf suite, Sophos endpoint security, Jira Service Management, OpenVPN, and other modern MDM solutions.
• Experience participating in ISMS certification processes and/or audits in a corporate environment.
• Demonstrated success operating in a global, remote-first organization supporting distributed teams across multiple time zones.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
