Platform Science is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Core Product Development team in Chennai. In this role, you will drive Full Stack Development initiatives across our edge-to-cloud IoT environment.

You will work with a robust engineering stack focused on NodeJS, TypeScript, Java, Microservices, and MySQL to build highly scalable, resilient features. This role is a perfect fit for a seasoned engineer who enjoys solving complex architectural challenges, working within an automated agile workflow, and delivering clean, high-performance code.

• Full-Lifecycle Engineering: Participate in the complete product development lifecycle, including technical analysis, architecture, system design, coding, unit integration, and system testing.

• Sustaining & Enhancement: Provide ongoing sustaining support to core software products, driving end-to-end feature enhancements and codebase health.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Management, Technical Architects, and fellow Development Engineers to confirm, refine, and track technical requirements from concept to delivery.

• Agile Execution: Act as a core member of an agile engineering squad utilizing Scrum methodologies, actively participating in team sprint planning and execution.

• Transparent Communication: Maintain regular, transparent communication regarding development progress, technical trade-offs, and project obstacles.

• Knowledge Sharing: Proactively collaborate with teammates, seeking assistance when navigating technical hurdles and providing mentorship and support back to others.

• Experience: 5-6 years of professional experience developing robust web applications and data systems.

• Core Languages: Strong, production-level coding skills in NodeJS, TypeScript, and Java.

• Backend Ecosystem: Excellent working knowledge of the Spring Framework, Spring MVC, and Hibernate/JPA.

• Architecture & Database: Proven experience in Microservices development, building resilient REST APIs, and advanced hands-on experience with MySQL (mandatory).

• Testing Rigor: Experience writing automated unit tests using industry frameworks (e.g., Mocha, Chai, Jest, Jasmine, AVA, or JUnit).

• Release & DevOps: Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, GitHub branching strategies, and modern release management procedures.

• Agile Frameworks: Deep familiarity with Agile software development methodologies and Scrum delivery patterns.

• Preferred Pluses: Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (ReactJS, Angular, Google Polymer), multi-agent AI workflows, or Spec-Driven Development frameworks is highly valued.

• Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills optimized for global team collaboration.

• Problem Solving: Exceptional analytical thinking and complex problem-solving capabilities.

• Mindset: An upbeat, highly motivated self-starter who takes technical ownership and maintains an adaptable, eager-to-learn attitude.

• Team Dynamics: A strong team player who thrives in a collaborative, small-team setting but is equally capable of executing high-quality solutions independently.
