Job Description:IT Audit Senior Manager, Audit, Financial services, London
Lead IT audit across a portfolio of financial services clients
Every day our teams help people in businesses and communities do what is right and achieve their goals. Our tailored, responsive approach gives clients the expertise they need to grow and make the right decisions about their future.
You’ve led major IT audit engagements and you’re ready to own a portfolio, shape how we win and keep work, and report directly to directors and partners. This is where your technical credibility meets real influence.
A look into the role
As an IT Audit Senior Manager in our Financial services audit team, you will:
- Oversee end-to-end IT audit engagements across a portfolio of banking, insurance, asset management, fintech and payments clients
- Report directly to directors and partners, keeping them informed of progress, risks and issues
- Plan, perform and review testing of IT general controls (ITGCs), application controls and information produced by the entity, and make sure the IT audit plan responds to risks of material misstatement
- Provide assurance that supports financial statement audits and the IT element of regulatory frameworks, including service organisation reporting (SOC 1/ISAE 3402) and client assets (CASS) and safeguarding work monitored by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)
- Review and sign off deliverables, and escalate complex issues such as ineffective controls or major IT migrations early, with a recommended response
- Build new business relationships with finance, technology and information security leaders, heads of internal audit and audit committees
- Contribute to proposals, tenders and client conversations, and spot opportunities for our wider technology, risk and advisory teams
- Manage engagement financials, including scoping, budgeting, resourcing, fee recovery and the impact of scope changes
- Lead and coach multi-location and offshore teams, set high standards, give honest feedback and support wellbeing and progression
- Be accountable for quality, including in regulatory inspections by the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) and the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) where relevant
Knowing you’re right for us
The minimum you’ll need is a professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CA or an international equivalent), or a recognised IT audit or security qualification (CISA, CISM or CRISC) with relevant experience. You’ll also have:
- Significant IT audit experience in financial services, ideally from a Big 4 or mid-tier firm, or from internal audit or technology risk in a regulated firm
- Experience of overseeing IT audit engagements end to end and supervising teams across a portfolio
- Experience of reporting to, and working directly with, directors or partners
- Strong knowledge of ITGCs, application controls and ISA (UK) 315, and of linking IT risk to the financial statement audit
- A track record of high audit quality, shown by strong inspection or internal quality review results
- A good understanding of the UK regulatory environment, including the FCA and the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA)
It would be great if you also had some of the following, but don’t worry if you don’t tick every box:
- CASS and safeguarding assurance experience
- SOC 1/ISAE 3402 reporting experience
- Experience of fintech, payments, crypto or digital assets
- Audit analytics and automated testing
Knowing we’re right for you
Our culture thrives on the contributions of all our people. We never settle for what is easy, we look beyond to deliver the right thing, for everyone. We value difference and respect our colleagues, which helps people perform at their best and realise their potential.
You’ll interact with leaders who are interested in you and everything you bring. The things that set you apart, we value them, and you’re free to bring your whole self to work.
Beyond the job
Life is more than work. We’re happy to look at flexible working options for all our roles and we’ll always do our best to keep work and life in balance.
Your impact here goes beyond your day job. From secondments to fundraising for local charities, you’ll be giving back to society. That drive to do the right thing runs through everything we do, grounded in our values: purposefully driven, actively curious, and candid but kind.
We’re looking for people who want to contribute, spark fresh ideas and go beyond expectations.
