About Platform Engineering

Platform Engineering (platformengineering.org) is home to the world's largest community of platform engineers. Through PlatformCon and AgenticCon, one of the world's largest conferences dedicated to platform engineering, we bring together thousands of platform engineers, platform leaders every year. Alongside our events, we run a university, a newsletter read by hundreds of thousands of engineers, and Weave Intelligence, our research arm.

About the Role

We’re looking for an Events Growth Marketing Manager to own registration and attendance growth across our entire events portfolio. That starts with our flagship conferences, PlatformCon and AgenticCon, the biggest conferences in the platform engineering world, which travel to San Francisco, London, Sydney, New York and Berlin, and extends to our roadshows, roundtables, workshops, House of Kube (the largest party in the cloud native world) and the satellite events we run in cities around major conferences such as AWS re:Invent, KubeCon and Google Cloud Next. Your goal is to bring platform engineering leaders into the room and keep them coming back. This is a systems and relationships role, not a one off campaign role. You’ll build the growth loops, the audience, and the repeatable playbook needed to fill these events and drive high attendance every time. You’ll report to the Head of Growth.

What you'll do
  • Own registration and attendance growth for PlatformCon and AgenticCon ticket sales, and for every other event we run, across San Francisco, London, Sydney, New York, Berlin and Amsterdam.

  • Build growth loops and long term relationships with the platform engineering community, its practitioners and its leaders, so we have an audience to pull from in every city.

  • Own our event pages on Luma and the end to end campaigns that fill them.

  • Plan campaigns designed for a high attendance rate, so the right people do not just register but actually show up.

  • Use HubSpot and Luma to build and target the right audience segments for each event.

  • Collaborate with design team to ensure high quality event pages and with content for strong copy and assets.

  • Brief and work with our performance marketing and lifecycle managers to get paid and email support behind each event.

  • Build the systems and the playbook that let us fill these events repeatedly, so the approach compounds instead of starting from scratch each time.

What success looks like

Within your first 90 days, we want you to come back to us with a proposed playbook: how we should run our in person events, and the exact workflow you would follow every time a new event brief lands, from audience to event page to campaigns to attendance. By 180 days, we want that playbook proven on live events, with a rising attendance rate and a reusable audience building in each city.

What you'll bring
  • A systems thinker who works in growth loops, not one off tactics.

  • Experience in B2B SaaS marketing. Even better if you have worked somewhere whose core business is running events.

  • A track record of building and growing audiences and driving real attendance at in person events, not just registrations.

  • Strong hands on experience with CRM tools such as HubSpot for segmentation and targeting.

  • Comfort running social campaigns and briefing paid campaigns.

  • The ability to work independently with complete ownership, and to build a repeatable system rather than firefighting each event.

  • Work closely with the design team to produce strong event visuals, both for our Luma pages and website pages, so every event looks as good as it performs.

  • Comfortable with occasional travel to our event cities when an event calls for it.

Nice to have
  • Experience with Luma as an event platform.

  • Experience marketing events for a company whose primary business is events.

You do not need experience with data or automation tooling such as zapier, n8n or similar data flow systems. Our ops team supports all of that.

Why join us?

We run the biggest and most influential events in the platform engineering world. PlatformCon and AgenticCon are the flagship conferences of the entire space, and they travel to San Francisco, London, Sydney, New York and Berlin, alongside a full calendar of roadshows, executive roundtables, AI Platform Leaders events and House of Kube, the largest party in the cloud native world. These rooms bring together senior platform and engineering leaders from some of the biggest companies on the planet, including many from the S&P 500. You would own the growth of all of it end to end, with the mandate to build the audience and the playbook that make these events repeatable, and direct access to the Head of Growth and the wider leadership team.
