Senior DevOps Engineer

We’re looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join IVIX and help build, scale, and evolve the infrastructure behind our production systems.

This is a hands-on role for someone with strong experience operating large-scale production environments, with a particular focus on Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, monitoring, and automation. You’ll work on complex infrastructure challenges, take ownership of critical production systems, and help shape how we build and operate our infrastructure as we continue to scale.

IVIX employs a variety of AI tools, including deep neural networks, large language models, and predictive modeling, as well as advanced data analytics to rapidly pinpoint large-scale illicit business activity.

Led by security, technology, tax, and financial crime experts, and advised by a diverse team of former IRS commissioners, IVIX works with dozens of state and federal governments globally.

• Design, build, and operate large-scale production infrastructure across cloud environments.
• Build, manage, and scale Kubernetes production clusters, including deployments, resources, configuration, and supporting infrastructure.
• Support and evolve infrastructure running large-scale data workloads and Big Data systems.
• Own and improve monitoring, observability, and reliability across our production systems.
• Design and maintain cloud infrastructure, primarily across AWS and Google Cloud Platform.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Automate infrastructure and operational processes using Python and scripting.
• Troubleshoot complex production, networking, infrastructure, and performance issues.
• Improve the scalability, security, resilience, and operational efficiency of our systems.
• Collaborate closely with R&D teams to define and implement infrastructure and deployment best practices.
• Take ownership of technical initiatives and help drive improvements across IVIX’s DevOps infrastructure.

• 5+ years of professional DevOps experience, with significant hands-on experience in production environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production, including managing and scaling clusters and workloads.
• Experience operating large-scale, complex production systems.
• Experience working with Big Data environments, infrastructure, or large-scale data workloads.
• Strong experience with cloud infrastructure. Experience with AWS and/or GCP is preferred; strong Azure experience is also relevant.
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
• Strong understanding of monitoring and observability, using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or similar.
• Solid networking knowledge, including DNS, load balancers, VPNs, and firewalls.
• Experience with Python or other scripting languages for infrastructure automation.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to independently investigate complex production issues.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to Have

• Hands-on experience with Apache Spark or operating Spark clusters.
• Experience with multi-cloud environments.
• Strong knowledge of cloud and infrastructure security best practices.
• Relevant AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, or similar certifications.
