Control Risks is seeking an operationally focused Senior Consultant to lead the delivery of an embedded security consulting program for a Control Risks client in Brazil.
The Senior Consultant will serve as the primary point of coordination between the client, Control Risks, and the embedded consulting team. The role is responsible for maintaining a strong client relationship, overseeing day-to-day program delivery, managing embedded personnel, and ensuring that services remain aligned with the client’s business priorities, risk profile, and operational requirements.
Working closely with the client’s security, risk, operations, intelligence, investigations, and other relevant stakeholders, the Senior Consultant will ensure consistent service delivery, effective communication, timely escalation, and measurable program outcomes. The role will also coordinate with Control Risks’ local, regional, and global teams to bring relevant expertise, intelligence, and additional capabilities to the account.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing client-facing security programs, embedded personnel, and complex operational requirements. They will demonstrate strong leadership, sound judgment, operational discipline, and the ability to build trust with senior client stakeholders.
Tasks and responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Serve as the primary Control Risks point of contact for our client in Brazil, maintaining regular communication with designated client stakeholders.
- Lead the day-to-day delivery of the embedded consulting program, ensuring that agreed services, deliverables, and performance expectations are met.
- Develop a detailed understanding of the client’s business, operating environment, risk profile, security priorities, and internal ways of working.
- Manage the embedded consulting team assigned to the client, promoting professionalism, accountability, collaboration, and consistent service quality.
- Coordinate workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, training, leave coverage, and succession planning for personnel supporting the account.
- Ensure embedded personnel are appropriately matched to the client’s operational needs, working environment, and required areas of expertise.
- Establish and maintain effective program governance, including regular client meetings, reporting schedules, escalation protocols, performance reviews, and quality assurance processes.
- Monitor program performance using operational data, agreed service measures, client feedback, and security insights.
- Identify delivery concerns early and coordinate timely corrective action with the client and relevant Control Risks stakeholders.
- Support the client during security incidents, operational disruptions, or periods of elevated risk, in accordance with the agreed scope and escalation arrangements.
- Connect the client with relevant Control Risks intelligence, investigations, crisis management, protective security, consulting, and specialist capabilities when required.
- Identify opportunities to enhance the client’s security program through additional staffing, consulting support, protective services, training, intelligence, or broader risk management solutions.
- Support proposals, pricing, change requests, contract renewals, and scope expansion relating to the client account.
- Oversee billing, expenses, resource utilization, and financial performance for the engagement.
- Ensure services comply with Control Risks’ standards and account for applicable Brazilian regulatory, labor, cultural, and security considerations.
- Serve as the main link between embedded personnel, Human Resources, and the client for workforce matters.
- Promote employee engagement, professional development, inclusion, welfare, and retention across the embedded team.
Requirements
Knowledge and experience
- Professional working proficiency in Portuguese and English. Spanish is desirable.
- Two to five years of experience in operational security, security consulting, risk management, embedded services, or related professional services.
- At least 5 years of experience managing people or coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated experience supporting a major corporate client, multinational organization, or complex security program.
- Proven ability to develop trusted relationships with corporate security, risk, operations, and business stakeholders.
- Experience managing embedded personnel, contingent workforces, or client-dedicated consulting teams.
- Strong understanding of operational security delivery, including staffing, onboarding, reporting, escalation, quality assurance, and performance management.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to balance client priorities with contractual requirements, employee considerations, and Control Risks’ delivery standards.
- Bachelor’s degree required. An advanced degree or relevant security, risk, or project management certification is desirable.
Travel Requirements
- This job requires the ability to potentially travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of time.
