Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Senior Cloud Architect with expertise in the insurance industry to join our team in Cape Town, South Africa. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based solutions that drive our company's digital transformation initiatives.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive cloud strategy aligned with business objectives and insurance industry requirements
- Design scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architectures using AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud platforms
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to automate cloud resource provisioning and management
- Architect and deploy containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes
- Establish and optimize CI/CD pipelines for efficient software delivery
- Ensure cloud solutions adhere to industry regulations and compliance standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate cloud services with existing systems and applications
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members
- Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and industry trends to drive innovation
- Develop and maintain documentation for cloud architectures, processes, and best practices
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in cloud architecture, with a focus on the insurance industry
- Expert knowledge of major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and practices
- Strong experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Expertise in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines
- Advanced knowledge of cloud networking, security, and compliance
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and PowerShell
- Cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect
- In-depth understanding of insurance industry processes, regulations, and compliance requirements
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
- Proven track record of successful cloud migration and optimization projects in the insurance sector
- This position is Hybrid and Flexible.
