Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Business Development Manager to join our team! In this role you will get to provides business development leadership and direction for one geographic location or a specific market sector over a broader geographic area. Understands business negotiations, and recognizes and acts upon opportunities to promote the Company's expertise and successful past performance. May travel extensively to cultivate new and ongoing business development endeavors. Typical responsibilities include important client accounts and large, complex proposal/project activities.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Establishes and maintains client contacts and develops sales strategy. Strengthens current business ties; coordinates meetings between clients/potential clients and technical or other key individuals.
- Keeps abreast of overall business trends, particularly the current business climate.
- Conducts surveys to determine promising areas of development.
- Establishes and maintains numerous contacts within and outside the industry. - Follows up in a timely manner on all possible leads.
- Develops proposals for services in response to invitations to bid, and provides guidance to proposal team from inception to completion.
- Develops the pricing structure, as well as other contract terms and conditions.
- Negotiates contracts, including secrecy agreements and joint venture agreements.
- Acts as sponsor for foreign agent representative(s); negotiates and maintains agent agreement.
- Acts as sponsor during project execution.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's Degree Engineering or Business (or equivalent)
- 10-15+ years diversified experience, primarily within the business development (5-10 years) realm of a large, multinational company
- Seasoned capture management professional
- Commercial bid management
- Client relationship and interface management
- A thorough understanding of proposal pricing, contract terminology, negotiations with potential clients, and the Company’s policies and business objectives
- The incumbent must also possess strong written and oral communication skills, including excellent presentation skills.
- In addition, an exceptional ability to represent the Company favorably, to develop new clients, and to negotiate with key members of other firms, is also required.
