Senior Backend Engineer – Agentic AI

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to build production-grade systems at the intersection of backend engineering and agentic AI.

You’ll design the services and data architecture behind LLM-powered agents, from prompt orchestration and tool calling to retrieval and production observability. While the role is backend-first, you’ll work across the stack when needed—connecting AI capabilities to user-facing experiences and owning the path from architecture to secure deployment.

• Design, build, and operate scalable backend services in Python.
• Build and integrate LLM-based agents using prompt orchestration, tool and function calling, and agentic architecture patterns.
• Own data modeling and database design for complex, production-grade systems.
• Connect backend and AI capabilities to user-facing applications.
• Containerize and deploy services in AWS-based environments.
• Build automated testing and CI pipelines that support fast, reliable delivery.
• Apply secure SDLC practices, including secret management, dependency hygiene, and thorough code reviews.
• Take end-to-end ownership of systems, from technical design through production operation.

• 4+ years of hands-on experience building production-level backend services in Python.
• Strong experience with modern Python frameworks, preferably asynchronous frameworks such as FastAPI.
• Proven experience building or integrating LLM-based agents in production, including prompt orchestration, tool or function calling, and agentic architectures.
• Solid practical experience with data modeling and database design.
• Working knowledge of frontend frameworks such as React or Vue.
• Experience containerizing services with Docker.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, IAM, VPC, and RDS, or equivalent cloud technologies.
• Strong ownership of automated testing and CI pipelines.
• A disciplined approach to secure software development.

Advantages:

• Familiarity with the cybersecurity domain.
• Experience with Kubernetes, particularly self-managed or on-premises clusters.
• Experience with vector databases such as Pinecone or Milvus, or embedding-based retrieval and RAG systems.
• Experience with AI-agent evaluation, guardrails, or observability tools.
• Experience working in air-gapped, highly regulated, or secure enterprise environments.
