What You’ll Do:
As a Senior Analyst in our Business Development team, you will support Directors and Senior Managers in identifying, evaluating, and advancing renewable energy growth opportunities across our International Hub. You will contribute market research, commercial analysis, financial inputs, and project coordination to help the team assess opportunities, prepare investment materials, and progress transactions through internal decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Market & Opportunity Scanning

  • Support the identification and assessment of new project opportunities across target geographies and technologies, including greenfield opportunities, expansions of existing facilities, and other value-enhancing process improvements.
  • Support Directors and Senior Managers in developing and refining market strategy for assigned geographies and technologies, including through market research, competitor analysis, and review of policy and regulatory developments.
  • Assess regulatory, competitive and macroeconomic dynamics and translate these into actionable investment recommendations.
  • Proactively engage in industry events and stakeholder dialogue.
  • Prepare clear analysis and recommendations to support senior leadership discussions on market entry, scaling, or exit decisions.
  • For expansions and process improvements, evaluate the attractiveness of the opportunity against other external growth opportunities, utilizing cost and revenue assumptions provided by other internal teams (Asset Management and SP&D).

Deal Origination & M&A Sourcing

  • Research and screen greenfield, single-asset/small portfolio M&A, and partnership opportunities for review by Directors and Senior Managers.
  • Help maintain the team's network of developers, advisors, investors, and market contacts by tracking interactions, supporting meeting preparation, and capturing relevant market intelligence.
  • Support transaction strategy, commercial positioning, and negotiation preparation for acquisitions, partnerships, and platform investments by preparing analysis, briefing materials, and supporting documentation.
  • Support Directors and Senior Managers through exclusivity, signing, and major milestone decisions by coordinating inputs, tracking workstreams, and preparing materials for decision-making.
  • For acquisition opportunities, support the development of the business case and transaction rationale by preparing analysis, coordinating diligence inputs, and working with the SP&D team on due diligence support.
  • Prepare comparative analysis of competing opportunities to support capital allocation recommendations by Directors, Senior Managers, senior leadership, and the Investment Committee.

Offtake & PPA Engagement

  • Support analysis of potential Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and other offtake structures by preparing market research, commercial inputs, and materials for discussions with Energy Origination teams.
  • Support commercial structuring and pricing assumptions for new opportunities in collaboration with Energy Origination teams.

Business Case Development

  • Support the preparation of business cases and investment proposals for new and expansion opportunities, helping ensure alignment with strategy, risk appetite, and return thresholds.
  • Ensure consistency and comparability of investment cases across markets to support portfolio-level decision-making.
  • Prepare analysis, slides, and supporting materials for investment case presentations to senior leadership and, where appropriate, the Board.
  • Work closely with internal and external resources to complete technical, commercial, and financial due diligence.

Project Management & Handover

  • Track project progress against deadlines, identify emerging issues, maintain action logs, and provide clear status updates to Directors, Senior Managers, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Support the transition of opportunities to SP&D by helping document assumptions, risks, value drivers, and open issues for further development.
  • Transition qualified opportunities to SP&D with clear scope, assumptions, and documentation for detailed design, permitting, and execution.
     

Leadership & Representation

  • Support cross-functional deal teams across SP&D, Finance, Legal, and other functions by coordinating inputs, preparing materials, and tracking deliverables.
  • Contribute to team knowledge-sharing by maintaining market materials, capturing lessons learned, and helping improve Business Development templates and processes.
  • Support annual planning, long-term strategy, and capital deployment work for the International Hub by preparing analysis and coordinating inputs with FP&A and other teams.

  • Strong communicator: You have exceptional oral and written communication skills and are able to articulate your message in a clear and concise manner.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of four (4) to six (6) years of experience in corporate development, investment analysis, M&A, project development, investment banking, consulting, or a related role within the energy or infrastructure sectors.
  • Experience supporting complex transactions, investment cases, or strategic projects, including preparation of analysis and materials for senior stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial awareness and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external advisors.
  • Experience working across different geographies and an appreciation of a global mindset.
