We are a team of collaborative scientists and software engineers who are passionate about building and maintaining high-quality, extensible code using modern C++ practices. In this role, you will collaborate with software and domain experts to design and implement software that solves complex, real-world problems. You will help build and support software across a variety of cutting-edge domains, including computer vision, atmospheric and physics-based modeling, high-performance computing (HPC), space domain awareness, and machine learning.
What You Bring
- B.S. or advanced degree (M.S./Ph.D.) in computer science, math, science, or an engineering field.
- Strong experience with object-oriented development and C++ programming. An enthusiasm for or interest in adopting modern C++23 practices is highly valued.
- A track record of learning new paradigms and a desire to build clean, high-quality code.
- U.S. citizenship and a willingness to undergo a background investigation. Ability to perform some work at government and/or customer sites in Albuquerque (ABQ). An active security clearance is a plus, but not required to apply.
Skills We Use (Experience in any of these is a plus)
We don't expect anyone to know all of these! If you have experience or interest in a few of these areas, we want to hear from you:
- Python, Java, TypeScript, C++ Boost, or Eigen
- Supercomputing (OpenMP, threads, MPI, GPUs/CUDA)
- Cross-platform development (Linux and Windows)
- 3D graphics (OpenGL, Vulkan, WebGL)
- User interface development (Qt, Material UI)
- Physics/aerospace modeling, orbital mechanics, directed energy, or simulation frameworks like AFSIM
- Machine learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow) and core data analysis tools (NumPy, pandas)
Our Interview Process
To help us understand your coding style and engineering skills, we will request a representative sample of your code early in the evaluation process. This can be something you've written for work, for a class, or a personal project you built just for fun.
