Title: Blast Operator

Reports to: Fin/ NDT Supervisor

Location: Mentor

Shift: 3rd

Positions open: 1

Requirements:

  • Able to meet deadlines and be accountable for quality/quantity
  • Comfortable using a team approach to problem solving
  • Have strong sense of urgency with the ability to work independently

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience as an operator in a manufacturing environment

Responsibility: The finisher must be able to perform operations and operate all equipment efficiently in the blasting of metal castings, defined as turbine components or castings of comparable weight and size (from approximately 5 to 75 pounds).

Specific Duties:

  • Perform 90 Grit and 60 Grit Sand blast by loading and unloading parts in cabinets.
  • Perform hand blast on castings.
  • Insure visual acceptance of castings.
  • Pass inspection test.
  • May perform other duties as specified by the supervisor.
  • Records on a daily basis all work performed and correct distribution of work time identifying same by operational codes. Must follow number routing card in sequence.
  • Keeps the work area clean, orderly, and in safe condition, following all safety rules.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers and supervisors.
  • Operate lifting equipment for parts in excess of 35lbs
