Salesforce Marketing Cloud Technical Architect

Contract role-Remote

12+ years of IT experience, with Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) architecture and implementation.

We are looking for an experienced Salesforce Marketing Cloud Technical Architect to design, architect, and deliver scalable, enterprise-grade marketing automation solutions. The ideal candidate should have deep expertise in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, customer data integration, journey orchestration, personalization, and solution architecture while collaborating with business stakeholders, developers, and enterprise architects.

• Design end-to-end Salesforce Marketing Cloud solutions aligned with business and enterprise architecture.
  

• Define scalable, secure, and high-performance SFMC architecture across multiple business units.
  

• Create technical architecture documents, solution blueprints, and integration designs.
  

• Lead technical design workshops and provide architectural guidance to development teams.
  

• Architect solutions using Journey Builder, Email Studio, Automation Studio, Contact Builder, Mobile Studio, Advertising Studio, and Personalization.
  

• Design reusable frameworks for email templates, dynamic content, AMPscript, SSJS, and Content Builder.
  

• Establish best practices for data modeling, segmentation, and campaign automation.
  

• Optimize customer journeys for engagement, conversion, and personalization.
  

• Design integrations between SFMC and Salesforce CRM using Marketing Cloud Connect.
  

• Integrate SFMC with external applications using REST/SOAP APIs.
  

• Define ETL/data synchronization strategies with Data Cloud, CDP, Snowflake, Azure, or other enterprise platforms.
  

• Ensure data governance, identity resolution, and consent management.
  

• Mentor SFMC developers and review code for quality and performance.
  

• Define development standards, deployment strategy, and CI/CD processes.
  

• Conduct architecture reviews and resolve complex technical challenges.
  

• Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, QA, and DevOps teams.
  

• Implement role-based access, business units, and subscriber security.
  

• Ensure compliance with GDPR, CAN-SPAM, and enterprise privacy policies.
  

• Design monitoring, logging, and disaster recovery strategies.
  

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
  

• 12+ years of overall software experience.
  

• 12 years of hands-on Salesforce Marketing Cloud experience.
  

• Strong experience in enterprise solution architecture.
  

• Excellent stakeholder communication and client-facing skills.
  

• Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Administrator
  

• Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Developer
  

• Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Consultant
  

• Salesforce Certified Data Cloud Consultant (preferred)
  

• Salesforce Application/System Architect (good to have)
  

• Experience with Salesforce Data Cloud (CDP)
  

• Marketing Cloud Personalization (Interaction Studio)
  

• Einstein features within SFMC
  

• Snowflake or Azure data integrations
  

• Agile/Scrum delivery experience
