Job DescriptionA sales operations business specialist is responsible for facilitating sales operations and analysis. This includes supporting best practices for forecasting, demand planning, reporting, and communications. This function involves data analysis, reporting, market research, competitive analysis, planning, and sales strategies optimization. The Sales operations business specialist should be able to analyze large amounts of data, accurately project sales trends, identify sales opportunities, and provide practical guidance to optimize sales strategies and increase market share.
Core responsibilities include collaborating with business stakeholders to uncover improvement opportunities, structuring extensive datasets, defining and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), and delivering actionable insights to guide strategic decisions. The role may also encompass building predictive models and working cross-functionally to meet data requirements and enhance data systems' effectiveness.
Reporting and analysis including: executive reporting of sales results (and profitability), key metrics and KPIs, campaign tracking and analysis, and ad hoc strategic analysis.
Review and analyze key metrics to track profitability, sales, market readings, competitive (price) readings, lead management.
Collect, consolidate, and generate reports for sales, market readings, competitive readings.
Implements and manages reports and dashboards ensuring sales team members and leaders have access to key data required to successfully manage the business.
Monitors the accuracy and efficient distribution of sales reports and external intelligence essential to the sales organization. Recommends revisions to existing reports, or leads in the development of new reporting tools as needed.
- 1 to 2+ years of hands-on experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or reporting roles
- Excel: Expert-level capability with pivot tables, advanced formulas, and data cleaning.
- Data Visualization: Experience building reports and interactive dashboards using Power BI
