Description

GMB is currently seeking a Sales & Marketing Coordinator to join our Corporate Branding & Marketing team in West Michigan. The purpose of this role is to help GMB show up, stand out and build relationships in the education market: coordinating our conference and sponsorship presence, capturing our work through photography and video, keeping our visual library organized and easy to use, and moving marketing projects from idea to finished product.

Why Work with Us? This is the part where most job descriptions jump into the responsibilities and requirements for the role being posted - and we'll get there shortly! But we like to start with the why instead of the what.

Our purpose is helping build strong communities through educational opportunity. We focus on projects within the educational ecosystem, from Pre-K through Higher Education and spaces in our community that support lifelong learning. Our integrated team gets to work together on a wide range of project types – building design, performance engineering, communications campaigns, branding, enrollment marketing, financial analysis, projections and planning – and we're proud of the impact that our work has on the lives and trajectories of students across the United States. Will you join us?

As a Sales & Marketing Coordinator with GMB you will:

  • Coordinate GMB's presence at education conferences, trade shows and sponsored events, including registrations, booth logistics, materials, shipping, on-site setup and post-event follow-up
  • Create a cohesive theme for all tradeshows so GMB shows up with a consistent look, message and experience from event to event
  • Develop and implement pre- and post-conference campaigns that build awareness before the show, drive booth traffic and meetings, and turn conversations into lasting relationships
  • Manage the annual conference and sponsorship calendar, tracking commitments, budgets, deadlines and deliverables, and reporting on results
  • Support sales and business development efforts with client outreach and CRM updates
  • Assist local office leadership in preparing marketing materials as needed
  • Support capture and coordination of photography and video of projects, events, client milestones and firm culture
  • Manage GMB's digital asset management (DAM) system: organizing, tagging, archiving and maintaining photos, video, graphics and brand files, with consistent naming, metadata and usage-rights tracking
  • Manage multiple marketing projects at once, building timelines, coordinating internal and external contributors, and keeping work on schedule, on budget and on brand

What type of knowledge do I need to succeed in this role?

More than a specific degree and exact number of years of experience, we're most excited about what kind of knowledge you bring. For this role, we are seeking someone with intermediate knowledge who has hands-on experience coordinating events and marketing projects, is confident behind a camera, and brings a systems mindset to how a firm's creative assets are organized and shared.

Some components that may help indicate you are at this knowledge milestone include more tangible items like:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business or a related field from an accredited program.
  • 3–5 years relevant experience in marketing coordination, event coordination or business development support
  • Based in West Michigan, with the ability to travel regionally for conferences and project shoots
  • Ability to successfully prioritize work, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines
  • Experience writing email copy and campaign content, from subject lines and nurture sequences to event promotions, that drives engagement and moves prospects to action

What might set you apart from other candidates?

  • Experience in the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry or the K-12 and higher education market
  • Comfort with communicating professionally with internal and external customers across all levels of an organization
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Lightroom, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, InDesign) and Microsoft 365
  • Experience managing a DAM platform or large digital asset library

We might be a great match for each other if you are:

  • A self-starter with great time management who thrives in an environment with cross-discipline collaboration and team level decision making
  • An individual who contributes beyond themselves, is motivated by their team's success and works hard to ensure it
  • Someone who enjoys trying new ideas and constantly improving
