WELCOME TO CHARITY CHARGE!
Start with warm leads. Build real sales skills.
You will not spend your day cold calling strangers or working through purchased lists. Every lead has already shown interest in Charity Charge.
Your job is to respond quickly, understand what each nonprofit needs, and help its leader complete the card application process. You will often be the first person they speak with at Charity Charge, so clear communication and reliable follow-up matter.
About Charity Charge
Charity Charge is an Austin-based Public Benefit Corporation that provides financial services built exclusively for nonprofits. More than 3,000 nonprofits use our Nonprofit Credit Card, from local churches to national organizations like United Way, YMCA, and Junior League.
What You Will Own
- Respond to new inbound leads as soon as they come in and help nonprofit leaders (Executive Directors, CFOs, board treasurers) complete their card application over the phone.
- Follow up with people who started an application and stalled, and help them across the finish line.
- Keep every call, application status, and next step up to date in HubSpot.
- Connect larger organizations with the right teammate and help create a smooth handoff.
- Everyone you contact came to us first. Never a purchased list or cold call.
What Will Help You Succeed
- You enjoy talking with people and can make a phone conversation feel clear, useful, and comfortable.
- You are consistent. You can follow the same outreach rhythm each day, stay organized, and make sure nobody gets lost between steps.
- Experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, or a front-desk role is helpful. Sales experience is not required. We will train you on the products, process, and tools.
- You must live in the Austin area and be able to work from our Austin, Travis County office five days a week during training. Hybrid flexibility is available after you are fully ramped. Local candidates only; no relocation assistance.

Charity Charge Compensation & Benefits Highlights
The following summarizes recurring compensation and benefits themes identified from responses generated by popular LLMs to common candidate questions about Charity Charge and has not been reviewed or approved by Charity Charge.
-
Fair & Transparent Compensation — Public job postings list explicit on‑target earnings ranges (about $50,000–$55,000) and describe base‑plus‑bonus structures, offering some visibility into pay for specific roles. An Austin role is advertised with “uncapped” potential, further clarifying the earnings framework.
-
Career-Linked Recognition & Rewards — Compensation is framed as performance‑linked with on‑target earnings and uncapped variable pay for at least one position, tying rewards to results. This setup indicates potential to increase total pay when goals are met.
Charity Charge Insights
What We Do
Charity Charge makes a credit card for nonprofits. That's the core of what we do, and it's a bigger deal than it sounds. Here's the problem. Most nonprofits can't get a business credit card without someone on staff or on the board signing a personal guarantee. So the Executive Director uses her own card and waits to get paid back. The treasurer takes on risk he never signed up for. When board members leave, the card leaves with them. And someone spends hours every month typing transactions into QuickBooks. We fixed it. Our Mastercard is purpose-built for Nonprofits, and it's approved based on the organization itself, not any one person. No personal guarantee. No annual fee. Unlimited cards for staff. You can set spending limits in real time. It syncs with QuickBooks. And the organization builds its own credit history, so the next loan or lease gets easier. More than 3,000 nonprofits use Charity Charge today, from small churches and food banks to United Way, YMCA, and Junior League. We've added bookkeeping, a gift card platform, and state compliance filings, so nonprofits can handle their finances with one partner instead of five. We started in Austin in 2015. Our founder, Stephen Garten, hosts a podcast where nonprofit leaders talk about what it's actually like to run their organizations. What it's like to work here: we're a small team in one office in East Austin. Everyone talks to customers. If a customer brings up a problem on Tuesday, we can often fix it by Friday. You won't wait months to see your work matter. We eat lunch together every day, benefits start on your first day, and when someone's ready for more responsibility, we give it to them. There are about two million nonprofits in the US and most of them are still running their money on personal credit cards and spreadsheets. We're building the tools to change that. If you want to do work that helps real organizations every single week, we'd like to meet you.
Why Work With Us
