Summary
The sales / proposal engineer coordinates the technological aspects of the sales activity in close harmony with sales and supporting departments, including the elaboration of technical proposals, taking responsibility for the technical, organization and managerial aspects thereof.

What you'll do
- In conjunction with the Sales Managers, Engineering Department and Automation Department, determines which references will be used for equipment and for cost
- Project coordination with team members in the proposal stage
- Proposal writing and editing
- Proposal elaboration
- Maintain proposal files including relative calculations, communications, and meeting reports
- Contacts and coordination with main mechanical vendors for proposal purposes
- Inter-departmental or inter-company contacts concerning proposals
- Coordination of layout work for proposal preparation
- Coordination of engineering work for proposal preparation
- Coordination of proposal, metallurgical and process calculations
- Prepare and edit cost estimates for proposed project with estimator
- Makes sales calls and attends sales functions, as required
- Technical presentation of proposals to customers
- Technical presentation of SMS group technology to prospective customers
- Business travel (domestic and international) required
- Engineering studies
- Commissioning of equipment, as required
What you'll need
- Candidates must be self-motivated and display creativity, strong problem solving skills, and work well in a diverse team environment
- Candidates should have a strong ability to multitask and work in an interdisciplinary environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent computer skills, with a strong emphasis on Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science – Engineering degree (mechanical, metallurgical and/or material science engineering)
- 5 years' experience in design and proposal preparation is preferred
- Steelmaking & continuous casting knowledge is required

Skills Required
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, preferably mechanical, metallurgical, and/or materials science engineering
- Knowledge of steelmaking and continuous casting
- Five years of experience in design and proposal preparation
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to multitask and work in an interdisciplinary environment
- Self-motivation, creativity, and strong problem-solving skills
