About Enact
The next defining technological breakthrough will be in the physical world. We stand at a historical inflection point: bringing general-purpose intelligence into robotics.

At Enact we rethink the entire robotic tech stack from model architectures and data pipelines, to the actuators and sensors that feed the model. Pushing beyond pure vision and language approaches, we build a proprioceptive nerve system, and the cortex that makes sense of it, to solve dexterity through whole-body force-awareness and deploy robots for thousands of tasks in industry and beyond.

We are shaping a company where brilliant and unconventional people thrive together on solving the hardest challenges of our time. We are truth seekers. We reason from first principles, test our beliefs against reality, and trust that the best ideas can come from anyone. We move fast. We care deeply about our work and colleagues and are driven by passion to change the status quo.

If this resonates, we're excited to hear from you.

In This Role You Will

  • Design, integrate and test the electromechanical systems at the core of our dexterous robots: actuator modules, joints, and end-effectors, sensors, PCBs, and cable harnesses into compact, reliable units for high-DoF robotics

  • Bring hardware to life: lead system assembly & bring-up, debug across mechanics, electronics, and firmware, and work with controls & AI engineers to build a fully vertically integrated manipulation system

  • Develop & build automated test setups to validate performance, durability, and reliability, and take systems from prototype to series production

What We're Looking For

  • Degree (BSc/MSc/PhD) in mechatronics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field

  • 3+ years of work experience developing complex mechatronic systems that bridge mechanical design, electronics, and software

  • Solid understanding of electric motors, encoders, sensors, and motor drivers, and how to integrate them into a working system

  • Experience with system-level debugging and testing using tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and data acquisition systems

  • Comfortable with programming for test automation and data analysis (e.g., Python)

  • Familiarity designing parts in CAD (e.g. Onshape)

  • Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping, workshop tools, soldering, 3D printing, and prototype assembly/testing

  • Fluency in English (spoken and written), with strong interpersonal and communication skills

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Hands-on development experience with high-DoF robotic systems (e.g., robotic arms, end-effectors, dexterous hands, or humanoids)

  • Development experience with actuator systems (frameless motors, gearboxes, encoders, and integrated drives)

  • Experience with motor control and communication buses such as EtherCAT or CAN

  • Experience with PCB design or schematic review, and cable harness design

  • Thermal management for compact, high-power electronics and actuators

What we offer

  • The opportunity to make a real impact working on some of the biggest challenges of our time

  • A fast-paced learning environment alongside an outstanding, driven team

  • Ownership from day one, with the ability to iterate quickly and see your impact firsthand in an early-stage startup

  • Visa sponsorship & relocation benefits to hire the best in the world

  • A world-class in-person setup in central Zürich, with excellent prototyping, robotics, and technical infrastructure for hands-on builders

  • Competitive compensation and meaningful equity participation

Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree in mechatronics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field
  • At least 3 years of experience developing complex mechatronic systems bridging mechanical design, electronics, and software
  • Understanding of electric motors, encoders, sensors, and motor drivers
  • Experience with system-level debugging and testing using oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and data acquisition systems
  • Programming experience for test automation and data analysis, such as Python
  • Familiarity with CAD part design, such as Onshape
  • Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping, workshop tools, soldering, 3D printing, and prototype assembly and testing
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Hands-on development experience with high-degree-of-freedom robotic systems
  • Actuator system development experience, including frameless motors, gearboxes, encoders, and integrated drives
  • Experience with motor control and communication buses such as EtherCAT or CAN
  • PCB design or schematic review and cable harness design experience
  • Thermal management experience for compact, high-power electronics and actuators
