We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer with hands-on expertise in Robot Framework and Appium for Android mobile test automation. The ideal candidate should have strong Python scripting skills, experience in keyword-driven and data-driven testing, and good understanding of testing fundamentals including STLC, test case design and defect management.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop and maintain automated test scripts using Robot Framework.
- Create and maintain reusable test libraries, custom keywords and automation utilities.
- Develop custom Robot Framework libraries and extensions using Python.
- Automate Android mobile application testing using Appium.
- Execute mobile test automation across emulators, simulators, real devices and device farms where applicable.
- Perform API testing using Postman or similar tools.
- Generate, review and maintain Robot Framework reports, logs and execution outputs.
- Collaborate with development, QA and project teams for defect analysis and resolution.
- 2-4 years of hands-on experience with Robot Framework.
- Proficiency in creating and maintaining test libraries and keywords.
- Experience with Robot Framework built-in libraries such as Collections, String and DateTime.
- Knowledge of custom library development using Python.
- Understanding of Robot Framework architecture and execution model.
- Experience with data-driven and keyword-driven testing approaches.
- Proficiency in Robot Framework reporting and logging mechanisms.
- 2+ years of experience with Appium for mobile test automation.
- Hands-on experience testing Android applications.
- Knowledge of Appium architecture, WebDriver protocol and mobile-specific capabilities.
- Experience with mobile device farms and simulators/emulators.
- Understanding of mobile app testing challenges such as network conditions and device fragmentation.
- Familiarity with mobile-specific testing patterns and best practices.
- Good Python skills as the primary language for Robot Framework extensions.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming concepts.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
- Familiarity with JSON, XML and YAML data formats.
- Knowledge of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
- Experience in test case design and defect management.
- JIRA knowledge is advantageous.
- Knowledge of API testing and Postman.
- Telecom domain experience is preferred.
