Your Opportunity
Our Transportation group provides comprehensive planning, design, and engineering services for all phases of roadway, bridge, and multi-modal projects for public and private clients. This is the place where great ideas and rewarding careers can really take off.
Stantec is seeking a Roadway Engineering Intern to join our dynamic team in the Raleigh, NC office. This role offers a unique opportunity to support our expanding roadway group alongside structural, planning, and traffic disciplines. Ideal candidates are currently pursuing a BSCE in civil engineering, with a foundational understanding of highway geometric design and construction. Curiosity and a willingness to learn are essential, as is the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and designers across all experience levels to deliver high-quality plans to our clients.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Gather project data and perform routine calculations
- Prepare and assemble reports and drawings
- Assist with design projects utilizing OpenRoads Designer
- Observe and attend meetings with design team, and other project stakeholders
- Other related tasks as assigned
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Literacy in OpenRoads Designer is an asset
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take direction
- Ability to work independently
- Must have a good driving record, and valid driver’s license
Education and Experience
- In progress towards earning a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
