Job Summary:
The Company Sales Representative role is responsible for creating demand for the Company products by strategically developing sales growth opportunities for Company portfolio of products in target market areas. The role works closely with the Company executives to create growth, target products and areas and develop a strategic plan to execute.

This is a hunter-farmer hybrid role. You'll spend your days in the field — visiting yards, calling on contractors, meeting with dealer principals, walking job sites, and being a visible presence in the local building products community. You'll have full ownership of your territory's revenue and growth.

Summary of essential job functions:

  • Own a territory book of business — grow existing distributor, dealer, contractor, and builder accounts while identifying and closing new ones
  • Spend your time in the field — visiting customer yards, job sites, dealer locations, and prospect facilities, and being a visible presence in the local building products community
  • Service existing accounts to meet and exceed expectations, drive repeat orders, and expand share of wallet

  • Partner with Murco's inside sales, customer service, and operations teams to deliver on customer commitments and resolve issues with urgency
  • Manage pipeline and forecast territory performance in CRM; provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly activity, call, and territory analysis reports to leadership
  • Represent Murco at regional trade shows, industry events, and customer functions
  • Recommend adjustments to sales strategy, product offerings, and customer programs based on competitive developments and customer feedback
  • Protect and grow gross margin — sell on value, not price
  • Provide field input on marketing materials and customer-facing collateral

Required:

  • 3+ years of outside sales experience in building materials, construction products, or a related industrial B2B environment
  • Demonstrated track record of hitting or exceeding quota
  • Established relationships in the building products community — distributors, dealers, contractors, or specifiers
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and willingness to travel within territory (typically day trips, occasional overnights)
  • Strong written and verbal communication; ability to read construction documents and discuss product specifications fluently

    Preferred:

  • Experience selling drywall, wall systems, gypsum, or related interior finish products
  • Existing relationships with major Texas building products distributors and dealers
  • Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar)
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
