Quality & Documentation Specialist
NorthEast Residential Services is seeking a Quality & Documentation Specialist to join our growing team!
This is a great opportunity for an experienced DSP or human services professional who is detail-oriented, organized, and interested in growing beyond direct care into the quality and compliance side of residential services.
The Quality & Documentation Specialist plays an important role in ensuring that services provided to the individuals we support are accurately documented and align with their service plans and authorized hours.
In this role, you will review daily ISP notes, service documentation, schedules, and other program records for accuracy and completion. You will work closely with Program Managers and DSPs to identify missing or incomplete documentation, communicate needed corrections, and help ensure our programs maintain strong documentation and compliance standards.
This position is based out of our Gray, Maine office. Candidates must live within a practical driving distance of Gray. After six months in the position, a hybrid work schedule may be considered based on performance and organizational needs.
What You'll Do
- Review daily ISP notes and service documentation for accuracy, quality, and completion
- Ensure documentation aligns with individual service plans and authorized service hours
- Compare documentation, staffing schedules, and other records for consistency
- Identify missing, incomplete, or inconsistent documentation
- Follow up with Program Managers and DSPs when corrections or additional information are needed
- Track documentation concerns and recurring trends
- Assist with internal documentation and compliance reviews
- Support agency readiness for audits, licensing reviews, and other regulatory requirements
- Work within multiple agency and clinical software systems
- Provide clear and professional communication regarding documentation concerns
- Support overall quality improvement efforts within Residential Services
What We're Looking For
- Experience as a Direct Support Professional or in a similar human services role
- Experience completing or reviewing ISP and daily service documentation
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent organization and time-management skills
- Ability to identify inconsistencies and follow through until they are resolved
- Comfortable working across multiple software systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating with program teams
- An interest in quality assurance, documentation, and compliance
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to successfully complete required criminal, APS, and CPS background checks
- Ability to effectively use Microsoft Outlook, email, and clinical software
- Ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in English
