QA Lead (f/m/x)

We are looking for a visionary QA Lead to join our team in Poland and revolutionize our quality engineering through AI-driven test automation and strategic leadership. In this role, you will move beyond traditional manual testing—setting the vision, architecture, and execution plan for how AI can be leveraged to automate testing processes, optimize maintenance, and drastically accelerate delivery cycles. You can work from our modern office in Gliwice or remotely from anywhere in Poland, with a visit to the office at least once per month to meet the team.

What You’ll Be Doing

Team Leadership & Mentorship

• Lead, empower, and mentor a small, dedicated QA engineering team, fostering a supportive, high-trust, and psychologically safe environment.  
• Align quality engineering initiatives with broader engineering goals, establishing high standards for automated test coverage and reliability. 

AI Automation & Quality Strategy

• Define and execute a bold QA vision that integrates modern AI methodologies to automate test generation, dynamic data creation, and suite maintenance.
• Identify and implement cutting-edge AI capabilities to eliminate manual testing bottlenecks and accelerate time-to-market.

Test Automation Architecture

• Architect, build, and scale automated test suites for React web applications and REST APIs using JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, or Webdriver.io).  
• Ensure maximum test stability and reliability, proactively eliminating flakiness across critical enterprise user workflows.  

CI/CD & Pipeline Quality Gates

• Integrate AI-enhanced regression suites directly into Git-based CI/CD pipelines to serve as reliable, continuous quality gates.  
• Partner with DevOps and software engineering teams to ensure fast feedback loops and maintain high deployment velocity.

Agile Collaboration & Technical Leadership

• Work closely with Product Owners, Dev Leads, and cross-functional Scrum teams to establish clear acceptance criteria using BDD (Given-When-Then) formats.  
• Foster a supportive, psychologically safe, and helpful engineering environment through peer mentorship, code reviews, and high quality standards.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

• Build transparent, automated test reporting visibility (pass ratios, failing test trends) to guide data-driven technical decisions.  
• Manage end-to-end defect tracking and root-cause analysis in Jira for rapid, lasting resolution. 

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: You have 5+ years of hands-on experience in test automation and quality engineering covering SPA web experiences and REST APIs, with demonstrated lead or mentorship capabilities.
• Leadership Style:
  An empathetic, supportive leader who excels at guiding a small team, fostering growth, and promoting high-trust collaboration.
• Education: You hold a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
• AI Vision & Execution:
  You have practical experience or a clear, actionable vision for leveraging AI tools (e.g., AI-assisted test generation, auto-healing suites, or dynamic data synthesis) to optimize quality workflows and speed up delivery.
• Tech Stack: Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and hands-on experience with modern automation frameworks (such as Playwright, Cypress, or Webdriver.io).
• CI/CD & Pipeline Quality: Demonstrated success integrating automated test suites into Git-based CI/CD pipelines to prevent regressions.
• Agile & BDD: Hands-on experience collaborating in Scrum workflows and writing acceptance criteria using BDD / Cucumber formats.
• Mindset & Ownership: You are an ambitious, high-trust problem solver with strong dedication, high technical standards, and a passion for building resilient software.
• Communication: You communicate with clarity, empathy, and respect in both Polish and English (minimum B2 level).

Bonus Points 

• Custom AI Tooling: Practical experience building or customizing internal AI scripts for automated test creation, data generation, or defect triage.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Familiarity with microservices architectures, cloud-native tech stacks (GCP/Kubernetes), or cloud testing platforms like BrowserStack or Sauce Labs.

Compensation range

• Employment Contract (UoP): 15,000 – 20,000 PLN  / month (Gross)
• B2B Contract: 18,000 – 24,000 PLN / month Net (+ VAT)

(Range reflects Senior to Working QA Lead levels and represents On-Target Earnings (OTE), including a yearly bonus dependent on company success; final compensation will be discussed depending on skills and experience)
