Job DescriptionThe Role:
The Solution Test Engineer will work to bridge the gap between platform and feature development through end-to-end solutions architecture integration and validation testing. The individual will be responsible for testing and validating innovative cloud solutions and delivering implementation guidance to our internal and external customers. This highly visible work enables major service providers to deploy cloud services with minimal risk to their business. This role has the potential to evolve into a Solution Validation Lead, providing clarity and guidance to a highly skilled engineering team.
Responsibilities:
• Operate with a sense of responsibility, accountability and ownership for the delivering the solution and redirect the team, when needed, to help deliver on commitments.
• Partner closely with managers, architects and solution owners to make required technical and solution related decisions.
• Ensure the technical soundness of the solution designs through early reviews and write-ups.
• Analyze and diagnoses complex networking problems and other complex solution issues and provide recommendations.
• Lead the creation for a comprehensive master test plan that includes a clearly defined test strategy based on solution requirements.
• Drive toward a successful execution and delivery phase that meets the commitments
• Oversee the successful production of the Cisco Validated Design and other collateral for internal and external customer consumption
• Present the technical value of solutions to internal and external attendees through training sessions, EBCs, and demos.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers, and provide feedback and support to help develop their overall job effectiveness and work quality.

Subject Matter Expertise in some of the following areas:
• Networking: Cisco Data Center Networking technology and products. Spanning Tree, Fabric Path, MST, PVST, BGP, OSPF, MPLS VPNs, QoS, Multicast, IPv4/IPv6, SNMP, Security, ASA-SM and ASA-5585 Firewalls, ACE load balancer, WAAS, Virtual services, Nexus 7000, Nexus 5000, Nexus 2000, Nexus 1000, Catalyst 6500/VSS, ASR 9000, ASR 1000, OTV, LISP, VPLS, PBB-EVPN
• Server, Applications, Programming: Operations skills with VMWare, ESX/ESXi. Linux/Microsoft OS, IIS, Apache, Oracle RAC, File Sharing Systems, Enterprise IT and Applications, System Admin skills, build and maintenance including cluster, Server installations, maintenance. Knowledge of other hypervisors such as Xen, KVM, Hyper-V. Scripting, XML, AJAX, Javascript, Soap, REST.
• Storage: NAS, SAN, Fiber Channel, FCoE, FCIP, SCSI, iSCSI, RAID, EMC and NetApp.
• Test Tools: Spirent, Spirent Test Center, Avalanche, Ixia, Ixload
• Test software and equipment automation using Tcl/Tk, Expect, ATS/EASY, OO Programming.
