Experience Level: 3 to 4 years
Location: Bagalur, Hosur, India
About Us
Global Water Solutions (GWS) is a global leader in water enhancement and pressure tank solutions, delivering clean water technologies worldwide. As part of our continued expansion in India, we are strengthening our in-house engineering capabilities particularly in electronics, embedded systems, and connected devices to support next-generation water dispensing and treatment products.
A Purchase Specialist or Procurement Specialist role within this strategic context bridges the gap between engineering requirements and operational execution at the Hosur facility. By taking ownership of component sourcing and vendor management, this position offloads administrative and supply-chain burdens from the core technical team.
Job Summary: The Purchasing Specialist will manage end-to-end procurement activities to support engineering development, bulk production, and factory assembly. This role requires a blend of technical purchasing expertise (specifically electrical and electronic components) and strong administrative capabilities to handle vendor negotiations, release Purchase Orders (POs) via NetSuite, and coordinate with finance for seamless payment processing.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Sourcing
•Source and procure electronic, electrical, and mechanical components required for technical team R&D, prototyping, and bulk production.
•Support factory assembly and production lines by ensuring timely availability of bills of materials (BOM) and components to prevent manufacturing downtime.
•Request, compile, and analyse competitive quotes from local and international vendors to optimize costs.
Vendor & Internal Stakeholder Management
•Act as the primary interface between engineering teams, factory operations, and external suppliers to clarify technical specifications and delivery timelines.
•Evaluate vendor performance based on lead times, quality, and pricing structure; build and maintain a robust vendor database.
•Negotiate commercial terms, credit periods, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
Systems, Operations & Finance
•Execute the complete PO lifecycle—from requisition review to PO creation and issuance—strictly utilizing NetSuite ERP.
•Collaborate closely with the Accounts and Finance teams to resolve invoice discrepancies, track payment milestones, and ensure timely vendor disbursements.
•Coordinate with logistics and stores teams to verify incoming shipments against POs and manage goods receipt notes (GRN).
Compliance & Documentation
•Maintain meticulous documentation of purchase records, price trends, vendor agreements, tax compliance (GST/customs), and component certifications.
•Track, analyse, and report key procurement metrics, including cost savings, order accuracy, and supplier delivery performance.
Required Skills and Qualifications
•Experience: 3–4 years of core procurement/purchasing experience, preferably within the electronics manufacturing, hardware development, or automotive sectors.
•Technical Familiarity: Solid understanding of electronic and electrical components (ICs, passives, connectors, PCBs, power modules) and the ability to interpret engineering BOMs.
•ERP Proficiency: Hands-on experience working with NetSuite (or similar tier-1 ERP systems like SAP/Oracle) for order management is mandatory.
•Core Skills: Strong commercial negotiation, supplier relationship management, and data analysis capabilities.
•Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Commerce (B. Com), Business Administration (BBA), Supply Chain Management, or related technical discipline.
