Job Overview

The Deaconess Public Relations and Community Outreach Specialist works with the Public Relations team and plays a key role in external communications. Supports the organization's public relations, sponsorship and communication efforts, is accountable for Deaconess sponsored events along with representing Deaconess at various community events.

Job Duties

• • • Contributes to and participates in delivery of communication messaging including DWeb content, global emails as requested by various stakeholders.
    • Plans/implements/promotes corporate and community events
    • Serves on the Emergency Management Team
    • Serves as community liaison and sponsorship contact for non-profits in the community
    • Helps with press conferences and public appearances, handling issues and keeping the media, public and employees updated on vital company information.
    • Responsible for coordinating corporate sponsorships
    • High level of community involvement
    • Serves on the Social Media team. Monitors, posts, and analyzes
    • Coordinates use of corporate tents, supplies and promotional items
    • Coordinate health fair and speaker requests
    • Other duties as assigned

What You Will Need

Education and Experience

Degree in marketing, business, journalism, communications or a related field from an accredited college or university. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience, preferably in healthcare. Experience in all aspects of developing and maintaining marketing and communications strategies to meet organizational objectives. A proven record of consistently contributing to the growth and profitability of past employers Exhibited solid organizational, management, administrative and human relations skills.
