Project Manager

About the Position

Preferred Mortgage Services (PMSI) is seeking a Project Manager to coordinate and drive projects involving our technology, operations, and client-facing teams.

This is a hands-on role for someone who brings practical project management experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to build relationships with both internal stakeholders and external clients.

The ideal candidate understands project management methodologies but is not overly dependent on rigid processes. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of projects, communicate effectively, solve problems, and keep initiatives moving forward in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

This position offers the opportunity to work closely with leadership, development teams, and clients to support successful project delivery and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage projects from initiation through implementation, ensuring deliverables, timelines, and expectations are clearly defined.
• Serve as a key point of contact for clients on assigned projects, providing updates, coordinating meetings, and addressing questions or concerns.
• Collaborate with development, business analysis, operations, and client-facing teams to coordinate project activities.
• Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, action items, and status reports.
• Facilitate meetings, track decisions, and ensure accountability for deliverables.
• Identify project risks, dependencies, and potential roadblocks, escalating issues appropriately.
• Translate business and client needs into actionable project objectives in collaboration with technical teams.
• Support client onboarding, implementations, system enhancements, and internal initiatives as assigned.
• Build strong working relationships and maintain clear communication across departments.
• Recommend practical improvements to project coordination and delivery processes.

Education and Experience

Required

• 3–7 years of experience managing or coordinating projects, preferably in a technology, SaaS, financial services, or business operations environment.
• Demonstrated experience working directly with clients or external stakeholders.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, follow through on commitments, and work independently.
• Experience collaborating with technical and nontechnical teams.
• Working knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
• Ability to understand business requirements and communicate effectively with technical teams.

Preferred

• PMP, CAPM, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or comparable project management certification.
• Experience with software implementations, SaaS platforms, or technology-related projects.
• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or hybrid project management approaches.
• Experience in mortgage servicing, financial services, or other complex business environments.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar project management tools.
