Job DescriptionWe’re looking for an exceptionally organized, detail oriented Project Manager with a strong technical and engineering background. Candidate must be able to coordinate with cross functional teams (Sales, Operations and Engineering) to drive our projects through our Stage-Gate process. Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and excel at long-range planning, risk assessment and day-to-day execution.
This highly visible position reports directly to the Senior Project Manager and is critical to the success of our development efforts. Candidate must have a great work ethic, juggle competing demands, meet deadlines, and fit in with our diverse and energetic team. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanical drafter that thrives in a creative, dynamic industry and work environment.
- Coordinate with Product Management, Engineering and Design to drive development projects through our stage-gate process and arbitrate schedules, resource constraints and project deliverables
- Create, maintain and track your own project schedules through Smartsheets and other organizational and project management tools
- Assist Senior Project Manager on high-value projects
- Contribute to weekly progress meetings and maintain meeting minutes and other relevant communication tools on your projects
- Ensure all work is completed on time and within scheduled targets per Product Manager
- Travel on an as-needed basis
For this position you will need to demonstrate the following through a cover letter, resume, and work samples.
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field strongly desired
- 3+ years in a Technical Program Management role
- 3+ years experience managing consumer electronics or other electromechanical projects
- 3-5 years professional experience with a variety of manufacturing processes, including sheet metal and extrusions
- Experience with Stage-Gate processes strongly desired
- Proven track record of excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven track record of independently initiating and maintaining your own workflow
- Ability to respond well to direction and adjust workflow when requested
- Ability to maintain focus in an energetic and dynamic work environment
- Ability to meet deadlines while juggling multiple demands
Training
You will be trained on the specifics of Vode's lighting systems, relevant internal systems, and the construct of the lighting industry and constituents we serve.
