Project Engineer

Position Summary
The Project Engineer / Project Manager is responsible for supporting the full lifecycle of projects
from initial bid and estimating through procurement, submittals, project execution, delivery, and
customer startup. This position combines engineering expertise, project management,
estimating, procurement, technical product research, and customer support to ensure projects
are accurately quoted, properly documented, and successfully completed on schedule.
The position works closely with customers, contractors, engineers, vendors, drafting personnel,
and internal teams to develop project solutions, coordinate technical documentation, resolve
issues, and maintain project schedules and commitments.

Estimating & Bidding
• Perform plant and project take-offs as required to meet bid deadlines.
• Review project requirements, drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine
material and product requirements.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor pricing for project take-offs.
• Prepare and price quotations for contractors, engineers, and other bidders.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal personnel to obtain accurate pricing, lead times,
and technical information.
• Research and develop pricing for non-standard or specialized product requirements.
Project Management
• Manage projects from order receipt through delivery and completion.
• Coordinate project releases, vendor purchase orders, material requirements, and project
schedules.
• Place and manage vendor purchase orders for awarded projects.
• Expedite materials and equipment to maintain project schedules.
• Coordinate truck schedules and deliveries.
• Communicate with contractors, engineers, vendors, and customers regarding project
status, requirements, and scheduling.
• Identify and resolve project issues, delivery concerns, material problems, and other
challenges that may affect project execution.
• Maintain ongoing communication with customers and vendors throughout the project
lifecycle.
Engineering & Technical Support
• Research and source solutions for non-standard and specialized product requirements.
• Evaluate product options and coordinate with vendors to identify appropriate technical
solutions.
• Support customers and contractors with product-related questions and project
requirements.
• Coordinate technical information between customers, vendors, drafting personnel, and
internal teams.
• Assist with customer startup and service requirements as needed.
Submittals & Project Documentation
• Prepare and coordinate project submittals for plant and John Kelly orders.
• Prepare and provide AIS (American Iron and Steel) and BABA (Build America, Buy
America) documentation as required.
• Review submittals for completeness and compliance with project requirements.
• Manage submittal comments, revisions, and re-submittals.
• Transmit drawings and technical documentation to customers, contractors, and
engineers.
• Prepare I/O&M (Installation, Operation & Maintenance) manuals as requested by
contractors and engineers.
• Ensure required project documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted in
accordance with project requirements.
Drafting & Design Coordination
• Direct, support, and schedule drafting activities for assigned projects.
• Coordinate drawing requirements and revisions with drafting personnel.
• Review drawings and coordinate information between drafting, customers, contractors,
and project requirements.
• Transmit completed drawings and revisions to customers and other project stakeholders.
Customer & Vendor Relations
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding products, pricing, availability, and project
requirements.
• Prepare quotes and provide technical and product information to customers.
• Source products and materials to meet customer and project requirements.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with contractors, engineers,
vendors, and customers.
• Coordinate with vendors to obtain pricing, technical information, documentation, lead
times, and product solutions.
• Apply industry and product knowledge to service our customers and train Citco Water
Staff
• Local Customer Specifications
• General pipe, valve, fittings knowledge, e.g. pipe types, and O.D., Waterworks
Brass, pipe fittings, fire hydrants, basic valves
• Daily invoice processing and other branch procedures as needed.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position will have responsibility to lead and manage projects .Could eventually manage
inside contractor staff to include plant take-off/estimators, draftsmen, and all processes required
for managing contractor projects.
Work Environment
This position operates in a professional office environment with some focus on external
interaction with sales teams and customers.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. CITCO Water standard hours of operation are Monday through
Friday 7:00am to 4:30pm, with occasional evening and weekend work as job duties demand.
Travel
Extensive travel is not expected, though off-site training will be required from time to time
Required Education and Experience
1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred.
2. Experience in project engineering, estimating, project management, construction,
manufacturing, industrial products, or a related field preferred.
3. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, project documents, and technical
requirements.
4. Strong understanding of estimating, procurement, project coordination, and vendor
management.
5. General knowledge of CITCO core products as listed in essential functions
6. General knowledge and understanding of water & wastewater processes
7. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and applicable estimating, project management,
drafting, or engineering software.
