Key Responsibilities:

Product Owner - IT owns all aspects of the product/application in Network Planning Technology portfolio requiring an in depth working knowledge of Network Planning. This role owns the vision, create roadmaps working with business partners, and is responsible for all activities from inception to delivery. A key strategist in developing functionality, based on full understanding of specific business functions, taking into account all of the associated business & technical dependencies involved. Excellent communicator with outstanding analytical skills in order to collaborate with business users, technology teams and leadership in an Agile environment. Drives agile development & testing teams by creating detailed requirements in the form of user stories. High-level knowledge of the system design architecture to facilitate discussions needed for systematic updates to technical components.

  • In depth understanding of the business problem, features implemented in the product and the high level technical implementation of the product
  • Involved in strategy discussions with the business teams to identify new features, validate technical feasibility and impact to the overall product
  • Manages a story backlog to ensure readiness of user stories for the upcoming sprint and Creates acceptance criteria that is clear, concise and actionable
  • Contributes to overall definition of strategy and scope, including working with business collaborators to understand 'why' we are working on something before development begins
  • Works with business partners to ensure that business requirements are translated into accurate, actionable user stories
  • Works with User Experience (UX) analysts to ensure prototypes convey story intent. Works with Dev and QA to understand the boundaries of any given story, prioritize user stories for development and manage the delivery
  • Finds opportunities for improvement across product, process and team. Analyzes data to ensure features are aligned with product goals/objectives and delivering the most business value
  • Provide project support during release and implementation periods

Qualifications

What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • 4-5 years digital experience
  • 2-3 Agile/Scrum experience preferred
  • 2-3 years in business analyst role preferred
  • Demonstrate exceptional knowledge of:
    • Airline Network Planning and Scheduling
    • Business/System requirements
    • SDLC processes, inputs/outputs, standards
    • Agile & Scrum Knowledge
    • High-level understanding of Cloud Computing
  • Strong project organizations skill, including prioritization, planning and organization
  • Able to Work with distributed teams (on shore and off)
  • Ability to understand, communicate and engage effectively with multiple collaborators and interactions
  • Strong problem-solving, listening, written and verbal communication, and decision-making skills
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Prior Experience in Network Planning or related areas and an understanding of how this impacts United Revenue goals
  • Knowledge of Agile tools and DevOps Process
